Pandigital Android 2 GB 9-Inch Multimedia Tablet and Color eReader (Black) R90L200 My android phone works better than this tablet. It is a reader with wi-fi download connectivity, and that is about it(a fancy reader). Browser is very slow. You have to push so hard on the touch screen that your fingers start to hurt after a while. Bought it for my twelve year old, it doesn't work well enough for her.

Upon first receiving this I was pleased with what I saw. I am not a "tech geek" so I quickly grew frustrated with it. I can't use it for everything as stated because I have been experiencing difficulties with downloading apps and reaching their customer service for help is nearly impossible for me by phone because of their hours of operations are limited and I am at work during those times. Reaching them by email is no problem but it always tell me to call them. So for now it mostly sits not being used

I don't like giving poor product reviews, but there are times.

I bought this device new/used from an Amazon affiliate for $75. It does the job I need which is simply a nine inch monitor screen to display the picture from an IP security camera over the Internet via WiFi.

While it did exactly what I needed, I was surprised at the primitive state of development.

I have been using an HTC Sensation smartphone and a Lenovo seven inch tablet. I thought the Pandigital would be similar. It isn't. I found one app similar to what I have used on the other two devices to monitor an IP camera, but count myself lucky. The multitude of apps on Google Market vastly exceed what the B & N Pandigital offers on its SAM app market. It had just one to do my job. And you cannot access Android's Marketplace.

The touch screen is horrible. It takes a strong press to select something and swiping to scroll is VERY difficult compared to the competition. If Apple is a ten in terms of friendly hardware and firmware interaction, Pandigital is a one.

I can't see any reason (except mine) to buy this device over any other popular tablet, even if it were free. And never give it as a gift, as any person who's seen the competition will be disappointed. Actually that's why the one I got was on the market cheap.

The other reviewers generally say the Pandigital is OK as a reader but poor as a tablet. Myself I can't abide the difficult touch screen for any reason.

Sorry, two stars out of compassion.

The company, PanDigital, went bankrupt and these are closeout specials. That is the only thing that makes them a fair price. EReaders are overpriced by at least 100% in my opinion, and ebooks are as well. I shouldn't have to pay more for an ebook than I would for the printed copy. But as a closeout for $70 including tax and shipping this was priced right. Mine was a refurbished unit. As a reader, it works well for the epub and pdf formats, which are the only ebook formats it supports. I haven't purchased any ebooks yet from the Barnes and Noble bookstore, but I had no trouble at all downloading a couple free ebooks from there. Even though it doesn't support the Google Marketplace for Android apps, the market that it comes with has alternate browsers like Dolphin and Opera Mini available, which work a little better than the built in browser. For checking email while on the go it works just fine, with the WiFi connecting easily at my local YMCA and at home. You can easily copy music, photos, and videos from your PC using the supplied USB cable. Battery life is good in my opinion, lasting over 4 hours even with the WiFi turned on. That's way better than my cell phone, which gives me less than 2 hours continuous talk time on a full charge. Using headphones, the sound on this unit is fantastic. It's a little picky on playing YouTube videos, but since it's not a HD device, you can't expect superior quality video. Some YouTube apps work better than others. For an on the go device, it is quite serviceable. All in all I consider it a good value at this price. The built in stylus is made from a hard plastic, so I recommend getting a screen protector for it. I noticed a few light scratches after a few days, so I got a newer soft-tipped stylus and have had no more scratches. I do plan to get a screen protector sheet very soon just to be safe. The screen is very responsive and I do not have to use undue pressure, as has been indicated by some reviewers. If it wasn't limited to an older version of Android (version 2.1) and if the Google Marketplace worked on it without modification, I would rate this 5 stars instead of 4.

I bought my wife the Pandigital 7" Planet about 2 years ago and she Loved it so much I just had to give it a try. Well after playing with it for a couple months I decided I just HAD to have one of my own! So I shopped around and found one on eBay for under $100! I've been playing games, reading more than I Ever did before and I just LOVE everything about it. Then last month I broke the tiny little spring loaded slider power button on the side (Very poor design) and just couldn't live without my tablet so I found this one and for the same price as I paid for her 7" almost 2 years ago I ORDERED IT! The ONLY problem I'm having is that it won't connect to my home WiFi when ALL of our other Android devices connect by just typing in the password. This one keeps telling me the password is Wrong and I KNOW it's Right! I'll figure it out. But I'm still Keeping this one!!
