The Numark DJ I/O USB 2.0 Audio Interface is compact and rugged enough to live in your gig bag, but powerful enough to provide solutions for a wide range of audio I/O needs. The DJ I/O from Numark gives software-based DJs, performers and producers a range of options for outputting their final audio, whether in the form of a live mix or a just-completed new track. DJs and producers pass audio from their software-based application of choice through a traditional mixer (for multi-channel mixing) and output to a pair of stereo RCA connections, via a forward-thinking USB 2.0 connection. The Numark DJ I/O audio interface features ultra-low latency audio (via ASIO drivers), with 2 independent RCA stereo outputs, a mic input with adjustable gain on stereo pair #1 and a 1/4 inch stereo headphone output on stereo pair #2. The Numark DJ I/O is USB bus powered and also operates with 9V DC external power supply (sold separately).

A compact, portable audio interface expressly designed for DJs, mobile music producers and other musicians who work with computers, the Numark DJ I/O connects easily with a standard USB cable to the computer and supplies extremely high-quality, 24-bit audio to output systems. With the DJ I/O, you can use your favorite DJ software and take full advantage of cueing and monitoring.

Compact and rugged enough to live in your gig bag, it has RCA stereo outputs and a headphone output so you can cue and output your main mix simultaneously. It also has a 1/4-inch mic input so you can be the life of the party.

The DJ I/O has stereo outputs for a main sound system, a secondary or monitoring system and headphones, as well as a microphone input with a hardware volume control. The audio interface comes with premium ASIO drivers, which enable you to easily optimize your system's audio performance.

Practical for use in a wide variety of setups, the convenient and highly portable DJ I/O is most commonly used with a combination of music-mixing software and a hardware controller such as TOTAL CONTROL, Stealth Control, or MixMeister Control. The DJ I/O delivers extremely low-latency audio performance for real-time playback accuracy at a choice of CD-quality 44.1kHz or premium 88.2kHz sample rates.

You can use DJ I/O with Mac OS X, Windows XP, or Vista. Both 32 and 64-bit Windows are compatible. The USB device is bus-powered so no additional power supply is needed, and you can optionally power the DJ I/O using a six-volt AC adapter (sold separately)

    The Numark DJ I.O does excactly what it says. It Improves sound quality from your
    your laptop, and it gives you the option to cue songs (dj will know the term)
    Its very easy to install, and very small to carry around. You will notice
    a cleaner sound when you use this with a high powered system. I`m using an 800 watt amp
    two 15 inch speakers a 2 gig laptop, Numark mixtrack with Virtual Dj 7 and I rattle the windows..

    I was researching about a good audio interface for my laptop since I usually DJ in small/medium parties. and I'm happy I made this great choice by picking the Numark DJ I/O. is a good quality device and easy to setup with VDJ pro software. All I have to do was to download and install the software for the drivers (Win 7 X 64),plug it via usb to my laptop, configure VDJ software, plug it to my speakers and voila! great sound and good performance.     I bought this a week before I switched to Windows 7. I was using it on Windows Vista Business 64bit and it worked great along with Traktor Pro, however, it doesn't seem to like Windows 7 at all. This could just be a Traktor problem, but all my drivers are up to date and such. When it did work, the sound quality was amazing. I reformatted last night to Windows 7 64bit and have yet to try it out, but I hope it works better than it did on 32bit. If you can it to work, then it is a great product that I would highly recommend. I have many friends that use this, and the week I did have it working it was amazing.

    I bought this based on reading so many awesome reviews! The price was right and it seemed like a good quality sound card. Everything was fine until I plugged it into my Macbook Pro running Lion. All I got was a high pitched screeching sound - I tried everything but I could not get rid of it. So after spending some time googling stuff, I came across this link:

    Basically, it's a known issue and the only fix is uninstalling and reinstalling the sound card driver every time you want to use the DJIO. Freakin' ridiculous. And it doesn't seem like Numark is in a hurry to update their drivers.

    So, basically if you have a Mac running Lion, DO NOT buy this until they have resolved the driver issue. You can go their site and check the latest drivers they have (it's Snow Leopard now).

    I'm sure this is an awesome sound card , in fact the form factor, and the build quality is really good but it is simply paper weight for me at this time.

    Works great, however it looks nothing like what is pictured. I sent mine back, only to have a new one exactly like it sent to me a second time. The issue? They are no longer black on the top with grey lettering. They now are completely silver, a little smaller, and only say "Newmark" on top. Other than the confusion, it works as advertised, and was easy to set up with Virtual DJ 8 on Windows 7.

    The mic input is ONLY routed out to output set 1 - no input into the PC. There is NO routing flexibility, so the headphone outputs are ONLY on the 2nd output group. And unless you access this device through an ASIO capable program, only the first output is available (at least on Win 7) to normal windows programs.

    The installation program on the CD failed repeatedly in Win7 x64. Downloading the newest drivers off the Numark web site got a clean install.

    Probably works OK with Numark software and specifically for the kind of DJ setup they have in mind, which is documented on the packaging but not in the description here. If you are looking for a more general-purpose multi-output device, look elsewhere. Oh, and the power light is almost invisible even when on.

    First off I should mention that I felt a little betrayed when I purchased the Numark Mixmeister and was never told that I would have to buy an external soundcard to monitor my tracks. Being a DJ with 10 years professional experience, it's just impossible to put on a respectable set with no monitor. ANYWAY, once I got over the fact that this was a necessity I researched and found this was the most recommended. I have to admit, I was impressed. It gives out great sound, it's easy to used, compact, and durable. It has a mic-in, and many other options that I haven't had to use yet. Configuring it to my hardware was a bit of a pain in the ass but only took me an hour or so to troubleshoot. I have a bad habit of not reading instructions (like my dad always told me, they're just another man's opinion) so a lot of the wasted time was my fault. Once set up tho, just keep it close and you're golden.

    I use this regularly to give me 2 quality stereo outputs from my laptop for DJing/Karaoke purposes. Yes, you can get by with the headphone socket on the laptop, but if you're serious you really need something like this. I'd used cheaper alternatives before, direct plug & play sound cards but none offered the qual;it of sound reproduction at high volumes this did. Easy set-up, best results when using dedicated dj software!

    With playing my music all the time on the pc I decided to buy Numark DJIO DJ Audio Interface Software but to be fair anyones pc is capable of playing music on the pc,but if your serious about your music then you must have an external soundcard because the pc's soundcard just has'nt got the capabilities of playing music the way it should be played it just was'nt made for serious music lovers. great buy. easily to install.
