    I'm sure these work just fine for most people.

    Note that these are NOT a competitor to a "pop up flag" stickie product. These are opaque--good for drawing arrows pointing toward important points. NOT good if you expect to read through them.

    For the way I use smaller stickies, these are too long for the amount of adhesive. It's too easy to knock the page marker along the long edge and it detaches.

    It's also simply easier to keep one size handy, and for me the next size up--1.5 x 2"--adheres better; is more visible on my desk, and allows enough room for the writing I'm likely to do. These little ones are forever getting lost.

    Clearly, I have given this way too much thought.

    In and of themselves, they do exactly what Avery wants them to do.

    The Avery Page Markers (2" x 0.5") in five different colors are handy for using as flags, bookmarks, or leaving brief notes in your books, papers, notebooks, reference material and such. In a long term stress test of sorts (many many months), I placed three of them in a steno book that I take everywhere and throw everywhere. The flags were sticking out on the side, with plenty of opportunities for them to get grabbed and removed or torn. All three held. The exposed edges got abused, but they all held in place. Removing them had no impact on the ink, even though this is thin paper underneath and it was there for many months. The five colors are also helpful if you are color-coding your bookmarks and references. For note takers, keep in mind that 2x0.5 inches is a fairly small space, so if you want to leave detailed notes, you have to use bigger stickies.

    I use these constantly for remembering recipes in cookbooks or magazines. If I am having a dinner party I go through a few cookbooks to choose recipes then go back and pick which one is best and these are easily peeled off and even reapplied again if needed

    To put it plainly, these flags are basically a tiny version of a Post-It, but under a different brand. They are simple to write on if you want to make a note of your marked page. Because they are basically a Post-It, they do block any content on the page in the area you want to place them. Also, they don't sick as well as one would hope. I've only used them in books because I doubt they will stick to other surfaces for longer periods of time. They do the job of marking a page, but aren't anything special. My mom does prefer these for her college books because she can write things on the entire flag. It would be nice if the colors were much different - two shades of pink seems unecessary when there are many other colors out there.

    I use these stickers to seperate different pages in reloading manuals, The different colors come in handy to designate the different calibers of ammunition in that particular manual. I have 5 different manuals for reference. With these stickers I can mark 30-06 load page with a particular color and .270 caliber in anothe color and so on. I can see someone doing the same with other reference markers, cookbooks etc.

    I use sticky notes on my desk all the time. I hadn't tried this size before, but occasionally I need to just jot down one little thing... a name, a date, a phone number... to trigger my memory. These are the perfect size for that. I like having a variety of colors to choose from, so I can use different colors for different types of reminders. They are also great for bookmarks. However, they are not as sticky as they could be. I do find them falling off sometimes. I will probably keep this size on hand from now on, but I'm not so sure about this brand.

    I actually use a lot of these flags in my reading and studying since I'm a teacher and am always working up lesson plans. I've normally bought the Post-It brand flags but tried these through the Amazon Vine program. These are perfectly satisfactory flags that are less expensive. They come in 5 bright colors, stick where you want them to go, and are made of a matte-finish paper that's easy to write on. These do just what they should and cost less, so what's not to like?
