Even 7th and 8th graders are on the edge of their seats to "win" knowing it will earn them a Smencil! Plus, I got an AMAZING deal on these - about $18 for 50 Smencils!

    Smincils came with tubes that were without lids, cracked and no smell. I have never received such poor product from this company. Have other people that have orderd and got them in the same condition. Very disappointed.

    Love this product. Have used in the past with my students with no concerns. My concern is that given a bucket of 50 pencils, 15 of them are not usable. 15 pencils were stuck within their plastic tube and could not be taken out without destroying the plastic tube. It was like the pencils were put in while wet and they stuck to the inside of the tube. The tube is meant to help hold in the scented pencil when not in use, thus maintaining the scent of the pencil. As I already handed out the pencils to students I cannot return the product. As for the 15 pencils, well that is $15 worth of pencils without plastic tube.

    I ordered these because my daughter loves Smencils. I thought they would be a nice Christmas gift for the kids in her class. When I received them, I thought there must be something wrong with them. They smelled bad, and not pepperminty. We have had many Smencils, and even if we don't love that particular scent, it's generally a strong, clear scent. My son thinks these smell gross, and my daughter doesn't like them either. I got a replacement (thinking the first batch may have been old), and the new order smells the same. I wouldn't buy them again, and I don't think I'll be giving them out to the class. So I have 100 stinky, expensive pencils.

    I bought these for my daughter's class for use during their yearly testing week. The pencils are #2 lead and appropriate for all standardized tests requirements. I cannot vouch as to whether it increased the kids alertness or test scores, but it was a fun motivation tool for them and they enjoyed having them.

    I am a teacher and my students LOVE these pencils. I am saving them to give out to use on test day but other teachers use them on a daily basis. It may just be a placebo effect but the students really think that these pencils make them smarter.
