The Samsung SH100's Smart Touch interface makes operation as easy as using the touchscreen on your smartphone. Smart Auto 2.0 Creates the Perfect Shot
Using Smart Auto 2.0, the Samsung SH100 captures the perfect shot by analyzing key composition elements and selecting from 17 different photo and 4 different movie modes.

Thanks to its face/smile/blink-detection feature, the Samsung SH100 detects and adjusts the lighting on up to nine different faces at a time. The camera will automatically shoot the subjects when they laugh or smile, and prohibit the shot from happening if anyone's eyes are closed.

Digital Image Stabilization for Sharp Focus
When you're shooting in low light or zooming in on a shot, or when your camera is unsteady, digital image stabilization helps eliminate blurry results. This feature stabilizes your photos by changing their path to the image sensor before they are recorded digitally. As a result, your photos come out sharp and ideally focused.

Use Advanced Effects with Magic Frame
Create sophisticated images and poster-quality visuals with the Samsung SH100's Magic Frame feature. Magic Frame uses a predefined template to merge two photos into one. Select a background and the area where you want another photo. Place the captured image into the background and combine. The image you attach takes on the texture of the background.

Preview and Control Images with Remote Viewfinder
The Samsung SH100 includes a remote viewfinder feature in conjunction with your Samsung Galaxy Phone, so you can preview images and control the zoom using your smartphone. Many Android smartphones now feature a GPS feature, hence all of your images will embed geo-tagging to record your location.

Equipped with a wireless auto-backup feature, the Samsung SH100 automatically downloads your latest image and video files when it's within range of your PC. The camera even turns itself off after to save energy.

The Samsung SH100 is equipped with a 26mm Samsung lens, a 5x optical zoom, and a 3-inch LCD touchscreen. It offers 6.9 MB internal memory, and accepts external microSD cards up to 8 GB. It uses a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The camera measures 2.12 by 3.66 by 0.74 inches (H x W x D).

To use the SH100 with your computer you'll need an Intel 4 3.2 GHz or later or AMD 2.6 GHz or later processor; at least 256 MB ram; a USB port; a CD-ROM drive; and at least 250 MB hard-disk space with a Windows system (110 MB with Mac). The camera is compatible with Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7, and Mac OS X 10.3 or higher.

The Samsung SH100 is backed by a one-year limited warranty on parts and labor.

Anything I say would be superfluous. Who cares
if it has a miniSD? It has wifi. The different gadgets built in
will keep you busy for a long time.

I can now talk to my Samsung 2012 LED 3D tv, with all the
gadgets and Allshare. Take a picture and boom, it shows
up on my tv. To bad it doesn't have a built in slot for a sims
card? Hmmm, Samsung? All the other cameras I have are
now obsolete. THANK YOU SAMSUNG FOR A GREAT CAMERA....

I love the 'Remote Viewfinder' gadget! You can use an iPad,
touch cellphone with Android gadget 'Remote Viewfinder'
to remotely access and control your camera, via a home
wifi network. You could monitor your baby from rooms
away and take pictures at the same time! This is really
a cool feature.

Now it is down to $87! What a steal. BUT, I'm ordering
the more expensive one: Samsung WB150F 14.2-megapixel
Digital Camera. I'm hoping it will have better
zoom focus. This one has a tendency to have a soft focus.
Wait and see. I may keep both of them.

I'm very surprised that Samsung doesn't offer 'remote viewfinder' for
my 55ES8000 Smart LED tv, so I could use it as a monitor for this
camera. It appears the right hand, doesn't know what the left
hand is doing. Allshare works fine, but I have to use my iPad as
a monitor. :-(

After buying the Samsung WB150F 14.2-megapixel Digital Camera
and comparing it to this one, I'm sending the WB150F BACK! This
is just point, touch and clink, snap, crackle, pop...you're done.
This is the easies camera I have ever used. In bright sunlight, it
is like any other 3" screen, little hard to see. But hey, all cameras
has that drawback. You won't be disappointed. Sue me if you are.

I love the Samsung Remote Viewfinder gadget + iPad for monitoring
it. I put the camera outside and walked down to the end of my
driveway, it still worked. You can go as far as your home wifi area.
You want to monitor something, just set it up! This is one sweet camera.

You can also do camera to camera. Take a picture and send it to another
camera, call sharing. If you are married, you should buy two or more for
the whole family.

Update: I love this camera. It is the ONLY one I've found that will Allshare with my Samsung LCD tv, pictures come right up on the screen or I can send them to my Facebook account. Or I can use my iPad3 as a remote monitor and put the camera anywhere to transmit an image. It does 720P which is just as good as 1080i. Plus it is touchscreen and the battery last forever. Plus it will fit inside your shirt pocket. This is a great camera and cheap, too. Plus it will send picture to other FH100 cameras. The only thing lacking is a cellphone built in. For a good, all around, fun camera, this is it. If you own a Samsung tv, much better.

A good casual camera

It's your basic point and shoot, with some on-camera features that alter your photo and video taking, so I won't go too much into those. The big seller of this camera is the Wifi, and I have to say it's pretty functional but not great. The camera puts caps on the photo and video (320x240 and 30 seconds, stills are 2MP or less), so when you upload anything to Facebook or Youtube, it will be relatively limited. The Wifi pops on and off when you need it, so uploading photos isn't quite as instantaneous as a smartphone. It doesn't allow you to configure new locations to upload to, so you are pretty much limited to photobucket and Facebook and Picasa. Flickr is absent from the lineup.

The other thing I've noticed about this camera is its rather poor video recording quality. The video is fine, but the audio is barely audible, even when imported to a computer to be watched. For the price I had, it's nice to have a compact point and shoot which allows me to upload a few photos to Facebook or my email when needed. It was also a hassle to upgrade the firmware, having to go through the program and hookup to a computer to upgrade the July 2011 firmware. You'd think a wifi camera could upgrade directly to Samsung.

the touch screen will not work. my last one of this model broke, and I should have known better. A COMPLETE RIP-OFF. Getting a run around from the seller, it wants you to set it up, but wont allow access to the set up mode. I specifically ask if this unit needed anything extra or if it would work out of the box. I was told that it would, but it does NOT. IT NEED A MEMORY CHIP WHICH WAS NOT INCLUDED AS WELL AS A CORD TO PLUG IT IN TO ACCESS A COMPUTER. THE SHORT OF IT IS THEY ADVERTISE A WORKING CAMERA THAT DOES NOT WORK, AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AWOL. A WASTE OF $80.00

Fuzzy pictures and difficult-to-navigate controls

It could be a function of my not having learned how to use the camera fully yet, but so far I've not had good luck with taking really good pictures. They tend to be either fuzzy and/or the colors are washed out. I got it primarily b/c of the wifi feature -- and that seems to work ok. Again, it could just be that I'm not far enough down the learning curve quite yet.

Oh - and note that I'm fairly technical (wife always calls me a geek) - so it's not b/c I'm an idiot.
