    Great diffusion in certain circumstances
This works best when used in the bounce position. Head on it gives a slightly warmer color cast than neutral and many were underexposed. I bought this with the Canon 430 EXII flash which I truly love. The flash is so much better than my non-Canon supplementary flash as to make me wonder why I waited so long to buy it. This Omni-Bounce does a beautiful job of disbursing light more evenly than simply bouncing it off the ceiling. I'm going to try link a couple pictures taken with a direct overhead bounce and one with the Omni-Bounce. The Omni-Bounce covered the whole couch evenly in light while the bounce lit the nearest area brightly leaving the end dimmer. It fits on easily and could easily be stored on the end of the flash though not with the case that comes with the flash.

As a full time professional photographer who loves to get the most out of her very little money, I had to try this diffuser, right?

This thing is amazing! I bought it for my 430ex flash after my beloved Opteka SB-1 diffuser fell apart. The SB-1 still works, what with only needing to be a piece of material, but I have to sit down and fasten it on since the velcro loops broke (really soon after buying it!).
This Sto-Fen diffuser fits like a glove! I was worried about that, because I do a lot of moving around when I shoot and I didn't want something flimsy that could fall off. This baby is snug!
It does a lovely job with the diffusing, as well! I would say it does as good a job as my old Opteka, and I adore that thing. I use flash in just about every shot. Even camping in broad daylight. It's beautiful!
I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a STEAL on a diffuser. The Opteka is great before it falls apart, but even then you have to loop the velcro strap through and yada yada. This hard plastic does not wrinkle like the Opteka (so I can just toss it in the bag), it takes up very little space in my bag(which makes up for it not being collapsible), and it takes absolutely no time to set up/ attach. Just pop it on and off!

For the price range, I'd buy this again and again if I needed to. And I probably would never need to unless I lost it or did something really silly that was entirely my fault. I can't see how this thing could...stop working perfectly!

I am only a hobbyist photographer and not a "pro" by any means. As a matter of fact, my "Canon 6D" camera is far smarter than I can ever hope to be. (At least I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested). As much as I really like my "Canon 430 EXII" flash, I wanted to soften the light in my indoor "people" pictures a bit more than just bouncing the flash would do. That is why I got this diffuser and I'm glad I did.

There are several of these "after market" diffusers offered for the "Canon 430 EXII" flash. Many are cheaper and some are far more expensive and all seem to have some reviews indicating problems with the "fit" to the flash. I chose this one by "Stofen" because it was both "middle of the road" in price and seemed to have the best chance of satisfaction for "fit" to the "Canon 430 EXII" flash according to my reading of a lot of reviews.

Well I can safely say I am very pleased with this "Stofen" diffuser that I received. Now, I obviously cannot speak for ALL "Stofen" diffusers but the one I received works very well for me. It does fit my "Canon 430 EXII" flash very well. The diffuser is of course plastic but is just flexible enough to fit my flash without falling off and does not cause any scratching or damage to my flash head during install or removal. I primarily use my "430 EXII" flash only in "TTL" mode and this diffuser works well for me. It does soften the light a bit more and does decrease shadows and harsh lighting I may sometimes get even with "bounce" flash. Now again, I am NOT a "pro". I can take just as many lousy pictures as I can good ones when I get lucky. For my old eyes and the fun I have taking pictures, this diffuser works very well for me.

Now as I mentioned, I am NOT a "pro" so I cannot whip out a bunch of charts and graphs or rattle off a bunch of "f stop" numbers or quantify any "luminosity" values. All I can say is I am very pleased with this diffuser. It fits my "Canon 430 EXII" very well and softens the light on my indoor flash pictures just as I wanted it to do.

      I would recommend this diffuser.

The Sto-Fen OMEW Omni-Bounce Diffuser works fairly well as a diffuser. It fits snugly on my Speedlite 430EX-II flash, and has improved my flash photography considerably in certain situations, such as indoors or in confined spaces. Without a diffuser, the flash can sometimes give a very unnatural harsh look. With a diffuser, the light looks softer and more natural. I have found it helpful for outdoor night photos as well to lower the shutter speed to let in more ambient night light (like a city skyline), and use the flash diffuser to get a close photo of someone without the light being overpowering.

It does a very good job of diffusing the light, but I often have to remember to use it when near the subject, and remove it if the subject is further away. My only complaint is the same one that many other reviewers have, it is kind of expensive for a small piece of plastic. All camera gear is already quite expensive, so seems silly that something as simple as this costs $8-10 (plus shipping and handling). There are many online tutorials about creating your own diffusers from milk jugs or other materials, which can save you money if you don't want to spend ten bucks on this. However I think everyone that does a lot of flash photography should get/make a diffuser. They are a very handy accessory.

I have a soft box diffuser for my Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash for Canon Digital SLR Cameras but it is a little large and the look is a not as professional as I'd like. I picked up the Stofen flash diffuser because of its' small footprint. I was hoping to get more of a professional look as well. Some of the reviews almost scared me away as I was a little afraid that it wouldn't fit. I was happy to find that it fits perfectly on my Canon Speedlite 430EX II Flash. I figure that putting it on and removing it over time might loosen the fit but it is so inexpensive that buying another shouldn't pose a problem. :-) I love the look of it as well. It does a great job reducing glare and dispersing light evenly throughout the shot, thus improving the overall quality of your photos. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a quick way to improve their photos.
