I am so pleased with the performance of this sheet protector that I just ordered two more. I have two elderly dogs, one of which is losing sensation in his back end. I've had him for his whole life (age 6 weeks onward) and he likes nothing more than to lay next to me on the coach while I grade papers, do schoolwork, etc. He's been a sweetheart since day one, and I am not going to stop letting him be on the coach just because of this issue. That's where these sheet protectors come in. Two will cover the my entire coach. I situate them so that a a "flap" is both under and behind him. Works perfectly. Completely waterproof. Absorbent. Washable. Inexpensive. Durable. What more do you want? I could buy stock in this company.

Update 072414: I just received my sixth one of these things. I truly cannot live without them. Have used them now for about 4 months, with frequent washing (sometimes once a day) and decided that I need to rotate them instead of washing the same two over and over again. It's a Godsend. It's snuggly, but not too warm for my dog. Very comfortable, and contrary to other reviews, my don't move around much at all. I am also recommendation them to my daughter, who is due to have a baby soon. Who wants to strip a bed every time the baby's diaper leaks?

Hands down the best solution I've found to having a baby/toddler crawl into bed with you. Protects against pee accidents, leaking breastmilk after having a baby, and baby spit up in the night. Best part is that it sits on top of the sheets so you don't soil the sheets each night when the baby sleeps with you.

I know I read in other reviews that when it arrives it says, "not for use with children under 12 yrs. old." It does not explain why, but I'm guessing it's overly cautious b/c of
1) it being vinyl underneath and hence is not an organic material & has associated odors when you first use it.
2) b/c it's vinyl, it can get warm, even make you sweat if you don't have AC in the summer, and I guess you don't want to overheat kids (but it has a cool cotton quilted top that is very natural feeling & soft)
3) it doesn't "seal" to the mattress or tuck underneath and is made to go on top of the sheets, so it potentially could get scrunched up and I GUESS obstruct breathing in a baby. I'm just guessing on these 3 possible reasons for the warning.

Now I am pretty environmentally friendly and super concerned with toxins with my children, but after 2 boys who coslept with us and multiple "accidents" on our mattresses that would seep through other protectors/towels (not to mention the sheets on top)...I was ready to leap at a new approach while expecting baby #3.

I know it's not intended for cosleeping with babies, but let's face it...a lot of us do it...and this certainly works! The best part is that I just purchased 2 of them (despite the cost) and that was a wonderful choice. When baby soaks it for some reason, I can just pull out the other one and lay it down right on top of the sheets. No late night soaked sheets! They dry super in the dryer and I've used them nightly for 6 months now.

The size of the pad is very generous and it stays in place well. The pad also washes and dries very well. It has already paid for itself and has been a lifesaver for me; I am considering purchasing a second one. This pad protects the bottom sheet efficiently, however, occasionally the top sheet or comforter gets a little saturated depending on my son's position. I am not sure why there is a package label stating that it is not for use with children as it does not give a reason. Overall, I would recommend this product.

i love that Priva has the foresight to offer different sizes, and a selection of colors, to choose from. They are completely washable and dryable. The backside material is safe for use on air-bed/APP - Air Pressure Pad [often used for people with or to prevent bedsores or muscular/bone pain]. i had the largest one in a color that made it easy to grab when it was time to change to sheets. The other smaller ones were a different color so i could tell from a glance that i was grabbing the size i needed. The pads truly do absorb - and the topside material is non-irritating. My dear Mum had sores on her heels - and although we did what we could to help them heal, sometimes a person's circulation just doesn't cooperate. Whether the 'air booties" would swing sideways, or her feet "fell off" the supporting ankle pillow [exposing her heals to the mattress pad] - the material on the pad did not cause further irritation to the heel sores. What more could i ask for? Thank you for having them in your product line choices of supplies for our dear parents.

Bought this when I was pregnant in case my water broke overnight to protect our new mattress. I have been using it for a few weeks now and have had the baby. This gives me the peace of mind that I’m not going to bleed all over the bed and it does a really good job soaking up any breast milk I leak overnight. I’m not tall but it does reach from my breast area to below my butt (length wise). I’d recommend this to anyone going through pregnancy, postpartum or breastfeeding. It’ll also be great to use on our nursery recliner to help shield it from spilled milk. I can think of 200 things to use this for. It’s high quality and hasn’t pulled at all even with me sleeping directly on top of it. It also washed well.

We use this mat everyday for our baby to do tummy time (or to just lie on the floor or his playard). It's super easy to wash (regular wash and dryer load) - I ended up getting four in different sizes because I love the brand so much! It pills a bit but that's to be expected when it's in use so much and honestly, a little pilling never hurt anybody especially when it's clear that it's just a waterproof sheet protector. We've even taken these sheets on trips with us for the baby. They're super practical and handy!

I love these for my sons crib. As a newborn he managed to pee through SO many diapers while we tried to find something that worked. These saved our crib mattress from getting ruined. Our son is now 11 months old and they still work great. Our crib mattress came with one zippered cover and we place one of these on top and then a fitted sheet over all of it. If he pees we just change the sheet and this pad and the zippered cover is still clean and dry. A new pad tossed on top and a new sheet and we are good to go. I imagine they will be super helpful when he is potty training later too.

A bit of context: My son pees the bed here and there. We had already gone the route of nighttime pull-up, vinyl fitting sheet and the "waterproof" (breathable terry fitted sheets you see here on Amazon). Nothing does the job on it's own. The pull-ups are fine but were not made for a full bladder release. Vinyl fitting sheets just slushed around and tear with any type of opposing or piercing force with elbows, or toys etc. The "waterproof" sheets here on Amazon are water proof. The reason for the quotations is the sheets are not water proof when saturated. For them to be breathable AND waterproof they still need to have a porous membrane. Which they do, which means when he pees and lays in his soaked pull-ups face down, it permeates the sheets, the fitted liner, the two mattress covers (one zipper, one fitted) and sometimes the mattress. Yes, my son has a large bladder.

Moving on to this product, I purchased the slightly larger one so that at its length, it just fits the width of a double bed mattress. I place it 2 feet from the top of the bed, positioned directly under his torso, hips and thighs. This placement gets me maximum coverage for when he rolls over. The breadth of the bed is secure. And we only have to deal with the wet sheets and the liner. Simply toss in washer, do the do and plop it back on when dry. I place it under the fitted sheets, on top of the fitted mattress cover, so that it stays in place even when he's moving around or doing other kid like things on the bed. Haven't had a problem yet. Now to deal with the bed wetting...
