There is no comparison to it’s competitors hammocks! It is the original and the best. Sturdy, looks great (I prefer the clean look of white). This is my FOURTH PAWLEY’s Island hammock. I have always left my hammocks out during all seasons but winter in IOWA. I found they last 5 to 6 years, with the only negative being some discoloration over time. I find that the 100% cotton hammocks are FAR, FAR more comfortable than the synthetic options. I WILL buy again in 5-6 years!

Best Father's Day gift EVER!
Got this for my dad for Father's Day 2013. My dad has everything and the only other time we've been able to get him something that I could tell he really liked was when we bought him a big flat screen tv for Christmas a few years ago. Because of a tornado that leveled all but 2 trees in their backyard in 2010, I had a very limited space for a hammock and was worried there wouldn't be room for it to hang between those two trees so I went searching for the smallest Pawleys Island Rope Hammock. We had a Pawleys Island Rope hammock at our beach house years ago and my dad always loved it so I knew I wanted the Pawleys Island brand. We had about 13 feet in between the 2 trees and this hammock is perfect for that space. I have ordered the tree straps because I did not know that drilling a hole for the hooks that come with the hammock would kill the trees. My dad didn't want to kill his trees so he rigged up and cut a 2ft piece of thick wire cable and wrapped it in a cut 2 ft piece of an old soaker water hose he had and did some other stuff, I don't know but it held up great. I have since ordered the tree straps (they were only $16!) and will let him redo his set up. My dad weighs about 200 and it held him up all day! :) My brother weighs about 300 and he was the first to try it out and it held him up. I hope it holds up well in the weather because it has rained for 2 days straight since he hung it. Will update if there are issues. So far, I love it and am so happy I got this for my dad. Definitely worth the money!!! *********** Update *********** After almost two years of being out in the elements this hammock is still going strong. The tree straps are great too. Definitely worth the money. The hammock has never been taken down since we put it up, almost 730 days of rain, snow, and hot, humid weather have not hurt it at all. Would buy this again and again.
