- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2012I bought this blendor about 3 years ago and did not, stupidly, buy 2 as Costco had them on sale for $39.95.It worked so well for us at home that my wife took it to her small restaurant where it worked fine for 6 months when one of our help dropped it on our cement floor and strange as it may seem the base survived but the glass container did not. I just took a chance and ordered a reconditioned???????????? one from Abies************ through Amazon as I do not care if the base works as I only need the glass top part.
I am completely baffled by the negative comments as any one with a minimum amount of common sense should know that a 600 watt machine will not do the same work as one with a motor 2-3 times the wattage.
I love it for making quick Borscht (Russian beet soup). Just 1 can of beets 1 or more cans of water and 2 tblspn.+- of sugar and blend. I prefer liquidy my wife prefers lumpy. Add a little sour cream and enjoy!
Makes great smoothies!

I am never going to buy anything form this company ever, after being on hold for over hour and half i gave up,.. I read that others are having the same burn problem, I inhaled some of this smoke and feel sick my akita puppy wont stop sneezing,.. this is dangerous and should be something they fix and make good on,.. but its impossible now days,.. never buy form this junk company.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2011I must have made it clear that I needed a new blender because I got 2 for Christmas; this one and a cheaper $17. blender from Wal-Mart. This blender works okay, but its design flaws make it a nuisance to use.
The square top makes things get stuck in the corners and not mix well, as well as making it impossible to pour out anything thicker than buttermilk without making a huge mess.
The rubber lid is pretty bendable and doesn't create a very good seal if you are using a liquid that is even slightly warm. DO NOT BLEND HOT SOUP IN THIS BLENDER. Although the instructions say that boiling liquids may be blended after cooling for 5 minutes, it is extremely dangerous! As soon as you turn it on, the lid comes flying off, spewing hot liquid everywhere. I used all my weight to try and keep this from happening and the lid still comes off slightly.
The plastic handle attached to a glass jar feels cheap as if it is going to crack off at any moment. All in all I like my $17 Wave Station better.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2013This was to replace my sister's 35 year old Oster blender. When it got here it was pretty, had a glass container--always a huge plus in my book. First thing I tried was the ice....Perfect, better than my VitaMix...and it has an 'ice' setting. However, when we put in blueberries and orange uice and a banana and a kale leaf, it sounded like a cheap piece of work, tinny. And the plastic body is cheap plastic. It makes me wonder how long it's going to hold up. The 35-year-old Oster in my sister's cupboard sounds better, just doesn't do the job anymore. This one sounds like a piece of work and does an okay job, especially on ice. So, think hard what you want the blender for before you buy it. If it's for ice, get this one. If you're going to be using it a lot, save up the dough and get the VitaMix.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2014I have had to change the plastic coupling a few times but I have come to realize that most people do not read the MANUAL. If you were not to overload it, and put in enough water, and not run it for minutes without allowing it to breathe, then you would come here to vent a lot of frustration. I 'm buying my second set of cheat plastic accessories, but I look at it this way. Somehow, some smart engineer found that it is better to ruin a cheap piece of plastic than to ruin a anything metallic. In fact, this is the rationale behind using fuses. You blow a cheap fuse, as opposed to blowing an expensive circuit board. For me, this is a no brainer. This blender, for what its manual says it is supposed to do, exceeds all expectations. I only give 4 stars because I do have to change the cheap pieces of plastic, which is fine with me... Don't blame me for having a engineering mind..
- Reviewed in the United States on August 21, 2011You can't beat the power of Cuisinart products as compared to similar brands. And I had to get this blender at it's current low price. I researched other brands before settling on this one. I use it to make whipped cream at lightening speed for fabulous desserts. Just pour heavy cream, superfine sugar and vanilla into the blender (NOT ultra-pasteurized) and zap for less than a minute. I take it out of the blender and whisk it a little further just for a moment in a mixing bowl to incorporate more air before using. This blender also makes phenomenal and silky smooth iced lattes and other coffee drinks, as well as fruit smoothies. It has a nice design, a thick glass container, and a super powerful motor. I am very pleased with this purchase.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2011I purchased the Cuisinart SmartPower 600 watt blender (CB600SIL) from Costco and since it was my first Cuisinart purchase I expected nothing but the best. Over the course of about a month, a lot of crud started building up inside the metal parts of the top part of the processor. I was unable to get this crud out, and when I called to complain, Cuisinart sent me a new blender top. Yippee! I thought. Then one day about two months later it stopped working. Stopped completely. Doesn't even work at all. Doesn't even light up. I called Cuisinart and their attitude was, well, too bad. I feel completely traumatized. I have never purchased an item that stopped working so quickly after I purchased it. I cannot believe this big reputation company makes such a crappy piece of equipment and then has the nerve to sell it. I will never buy another Cuisinart item again.
