Product Description
Our compact aluminum canister is full of Orange Indicating Silica Gel that adsorbs moisture in closed environments. With our 40 gram canister, you’ll be able to place it in spaces that are up to 3 cubic feet, which makes it optimal for gun storage, ammo storage, toolboxes, and other enclosed areas where humidity is an issue. The top of the unit contains a built-in clear window to see the status of the indicating beads. When the silica gel is an orange color, that means it’s dry and ready to adsorb moisture. As it adsorbs moisture, the color will gradually change from orange and turn into a dark green color. These canisters are cordless, rechargeable, and can easily reactivate in the oven for multiple reuses. Silica Gel inside the canisters are reusable and versatile for many items like keeping electronics dry, in storage bins, in camera bags, and more. Silica Gel desiccant is a non-toxic, non-flammable, and chemically inactive drying agent that adsorbs forty percent of its weight in moisture. Every single gel bead contains millions of surface pores that magically soak up water vapor. Our Dry-Packs Silica Gel Desiccant do not contain Cobalt Chloride (II) (Indicating Silica Gel that is blue in color has been linked as a possible carcinogenic to humans) and we offer a safer and equally effective alternative. To reactivate, follow the instructions located on the canister. Dimensions of each canister: 4" x 2" x 1/2". Coverage area: 3 cubic feet.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 13, 2013I recently got a pelican case and custom built inserts to fit my bid DSLR camera and all the lenses and other equipment. I take my camera out camping with me at times and I was worried that the moisture from the morning dew could cause issues with my camera so I installed all 4 of these into my camer case and they take care of that problem so my camera stays nice and dry. There is a lot of Silica in these and the fact that they are "rechargeable" is great so you can reuse them numerous times. The recharge is done my putting these in the oven at high temps for a while which reactivates the Silica. I like that there is a little window on the front of these so you can see the silica as the color of it changes when it needs to be recharged. All of the little dots you see on the silica case are actually little air holes and are on the front and back of the case. These are the breathing holes where is sucks in the moisture. I attached a photo of how I used them in my camera case at the top of the product page. I would buy these again for sure!! Great purchase and great product!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2012I have bought these more than once. They recharge easily, and do what they are suppose to do. I keep some in with my camera equipment and others in my ammo boxes. In my area, they need recharging every 2-3 months. Of course, this would depend on many factors such as humidity levels, number of time you open the case, and where you store your stuff. The size is very convenient for slipping them in a storage box or case. It's a small price to pay to add moisture protection to those valuable items that need it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2014I bought a few of these canister's and they are working well. You can easily see when it is charged and when it needs a new charge. They are also very small but they can last a while between charges depending on where you put them and where you live. I've upgraded from the blue colored canister's to these orange because I've been reading that the blue ones can leach out some type of poison. I use my 40 gram packs inside large (2.5 Gallon) heavy duty zip lock bags to keep moisture away from collectables. They may be ok for slightly larger spaces, but if you are going to put them in a space larger you will probably need to add a few of them, or you will find yourself having to charge them pretty often.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2016These small desiccant pacs work okay in small areas. I use them in ammo storage boxes since I live in a very humid climate. They don't take up much room and do the job. The downside is that once they absorb the maximum amount of moisture, they must be dried for several hours in an oven. You also need to check them at least every few weeks to see if they have reached their capacity. They are a fairly cheap solution to moisture, but the plug-in type works better in larger areas and is easier to renew.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2012I've got 3 of these little guys already; now I'm back for an additional 4-pack. Yep! They're awesome.
The first time I bought one, there was some confusion in the comments because the image showed a tin with different text on it. Apparently they used to ship these with crystals that were blue when dry and turned pink with moisture, but the ones I received were pink when dry and turned green with moisture. But now (8/2012) the image on this page matches the units I have (dry=pink, wet=green). In either case, the tin will have printed on it the appropriate color for its contents.
My only gripe is that the little window in the front is so small that it's kinda hard to see the color of the stuff inside. A flashlight helps a lot (I needed one to take the pictures).

- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2015I have a Pelican branded version of this product that I have used for several years with my camera equipment. However these are not of the same quality. In fact they are horrible knockoffs.
I have included pictures of the product I received. I ordered 5 of these at the same time. They all have the new silica that changes from Orange to dark green which is the safe kind. However ordering 5 of these at the same time I got 2 different products. All were the 40 gram version but the stamped directions were different for half of the order. The canisters carried with temperatures and times that are stamps on them to recharge them. Heck a couple of these came stamped with one set of directions but a completely different set of instructions on the package.
Then there is the quality of assembly. One of these came with he silica actually falling out of the space where the two halves of the stamped case were coming apart. All but one of the canisters were put together so badly that I anticipate that they will not last long in my tool box.
There are many places to get a quality version of this product. This source is not one of them.
I've repaired the ones I have with JB Weld because it is not worth sending them back while my tools rust in he garage due to the rainy spring season.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2013I just received the 4 pack of these descant absorbers, all arrived in great condition with no dents or damage. The ones I received have the orange silica beads, not the cobalt blue warned about in other reviews. This means they are much safer to use and contain the same type of silica beads deemed safe for medical. I am using one of these in two of my most used camera bags and two in a large pelican case I use to store equipment when not in use, items such as my film cameras, lenses and flash units. I have never really had a problem with mold or mildew, as all my equipment is kept inside in an air conditioned environment. however, shooting swim meets often or shooting around water and humidity I do worry that I could encounter problems at any time. These are very compact and have the same components as the silica packs trusted for shipping and storage of cameras and lenses as they come from the manufacturer, just in an easily reusable form.
As a side note, when it comes to electronics the ideal humidity is between 45% and 55% to avoid too much moisture but also to prevent dry static from too little. If you want to be a little more serious about the care of your treasured items, pick up a small hygrometer in addition to these to see how much moisture is really there.

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficace, mais...
Efficace, mais un peu long à recharger. 2 heures à 180 degrés. La fenêtre pour vérifier la couleur des billes est un peu petite (moi j'ouvre la boite pour bien voir).

5.0 out of 5 stars
