I bought this item from Amazon (seller) for little more than a dollar few months ago. These 6-inch cable ties (100 pieces) are pretty thin and are ideal for lighter applications. I have't used this for heavier applications and hence could not comment on it. Some reviewers here said it did not work well for heavier applications. I used this primarily for holding christmas decorations without any issues. NOTE: I used these to primarily hold thin cables and other decor both inside and outside the house. I feel for the price that I paid, it is performing pretty good.
If you want to use for heavier applications, you could get some other item. Unfortunately, there is no standard to identify the cable for any particular application (like weight limit for a ladder). Hence, it will be a trial and error method to find the right one. Else, look at other cable ties and check out their reviews before buying.
