- Reviewed in the United States on September 11, 2010There are less expensive mini-mice but this is the best one I've found so far. Very comfortable. Works perfectly. The size if perfect -- I gather that some people prefer a large mouse. Not me. For laptop use, this mouse is the perfect size and shape. The scroll wheel makes navigating web pages a dream.
Cable retracts easily (unlike others that I've owned). Click is just a little loud but not a problem (except with my spouse at night when she is trying to get to sleep!). Not the most elegant of the bunch. Most such mice break quickly. So far, this one keeps on working. I'll buy another Belkin Retractable Mouse when this one dies. (I think that the cause of demise is usually a problem with the cable. Perhaps the cable on this guy is sturdier that most.) As always, Amazon has the best price on the internet. Keep it up Amazon -- you are the most transformative retailer in history and you make my life easier.
UPDATE: I have now used this mouse for many months. It continues to perform perfectly. I have owned many mini-mice but they always seem to become unstable after a while, probably because the cable develops micro-fractures due to multiple flexions and traction while lifting the mouse by the cable. The cable on this mouse is the perfect balance of thinness (so it is unobtrusive) and sturdiness (so it lasts a good long while). I'll be happy to buy another one of these guys when the present one finally does give up the ghost. One minor issue: there are 4 miniature pads glued to the bottom of the mouse in each of its 4 corners which are supposed to serve as glides. So far, 3 of these have fallen off. It is no matter as the mouse works just fine. However, I use the mouse on fabric surfaces. I don't know if it would perform as well without these glides on a slick desktop.
FURTHER UPDATE: With heavy use, these mice do stop working after several months. As noted, this is probably due to fractures in the cable although the last time this happened it may have been the USB connector with my laptop. In any case, I always keep a few of these on hand as a back up. They are absolutely essential and at about $10. it is well worth it to buy a new mouse a few times a year.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2010Pros: The retractable chord is what I was initially concerned about, and that part works fine. The color is nice, although I wish I'd seen the red first. And I saw it selling for 3x the price I paid here at a major retail chain the day after I bought it here.
Pro-cons: It works okay for me, BUT I have TINY hands. (I wear XS gloves and I've only met one person with hands smaller than me. Ever.) So if you have giant man-hands this probably isn't for you.
Cons: It's not very precise, probably an effect of it being small and cheap. I'm frequently accidentally hitting things on my toolbar when trying to click between tabs in firefox because it sometimes clicks slightly off of where the arrow shows it is. Sometimes I also have to click multiple times on things before it recognizes I've clicked on it.
So if you're using it casually to supplement the scrolly-pad on a netbook, it's enough of a product for the price. But if you're trying to do something more precise, like click on very specific cells in an excel or quicken spreadsheet, this isn't your mouse.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2011This mouse was perfect for using with a netbook because of the handy, small size. I enjoyed it until it stopped working two months after purchase. I expected a longer life for it, considering that I used it with care. This purchase has turned into a disappointment. I will not be replacing it with a Belkin brand mouse
- Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2011This mouse does what it is supposed to and the retractable cord is nice. But the mouse is just to small to use comfortably. I was hoping that I will get used to the size in a few days but I just did not like using it. I ended tossing it and bought another wireless mouse. I would not recommend this mouse due to its size.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2010I buy the retractable cord mice so it's easy to set up anywhere and store quickly, plus you don't need a whole lot of room to work a mini but the cord on this one became damaged after only 3 months of use (from wear & tear). I've had it for a little over 6 months now and the mouse works just fine but I often have to fiddle with the cord to get it to work. Plus my Dell with Vista doesn't always pick it up right away even when it is working properly. Since they're so cheap and I seemingly can get nearly a year out of them, I just bought a red one to replace this one, maybe down the road I'll find a more durable one but I'm on a budget right now.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 19, 2011Originally i bought this mouse only because my girlfriend said she wanted something small for her laptop and because she said it was cute due to its smallness. The package arrived today and i tested it out on my own computer and it was definitely small but this little thing is very cool. I like the face that the mouse retracts its cord for easy put away. and i also like the fact that it is a laser type mouse not a ball. Don't judge this mouse on its size. IT is tiny but mighty. Great product. i might go ahead and buy one of these for myself considering im starting college soon too.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 20, 2011I purchased this to replace a Targus mini mouse that I smashed into my wood stairs (and it died) when I failed to retract it prior to carrying my laptop from one floor to another at home. The best feature of my new blue Belkin mini mouse is that the price was right at $8.00! I love how I can retract it and keep it attached to my laptop and walk around with it dangling since it is so lightweight. The small size is very convenient. DOWNER ISSUE: There is a BRIGHT red dot of light that is always on, on the FRONT of this mini mouse. (I'm NOT talking about the red light on the bottom which is fine.) When I'm watching a DVD on my laptop in my bedroom at night there is a BRIGHT red glow coming from the mouse....it's annoying and not necessary and wasn't on my old Targus mini mouse. To avoid it I have to detach the mouse....which is not worth the effort....so I cover it up with a pillow or something. All in all, it's a cute little, fine functioning mouse at a very good price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well
It works pretty well, however, it is smaller than I thought. It was not advertised to be a mini optical mouse.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very small mouse
I have previously had a small retractable mouse as I found it better to use with a laptop, with less wires hanging about. But this one is tiny, would be ok for a child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Going strong :-)
Had the mini mouse for several months now and it is easy and pleasant to use...and still going strong...no problems.
