Build Custom Stunt Ramps

Your child's imagination will take over with the Stunt Ramp Builder. Build a custom ramp, race on it, then take it apart and build another one. Set up obstacles at the end of the ramp, such as barrels and barricades, and watch them go flying as the TRIO racer crashes into them.

Excellent visual instructions to build three exciting ramps are included, and there are plenty of combinations that children can build on their own. It took our testers approximately 15 minutes to get up and racing using one of the pre-designed stunt ramps.

Over 90 Building Pieces

TRIO Stunt Ramp Builder includes a variety of pieces to build with, including sticks, bricks, panels, ramp pieces, flags, a Hot Wheels banner, figure, a rotating ring of fire, and barrels, as well as a TRIO Hot Wheels car with chassis.

Easy-Click Pieces Make Building a Snap

A majority of the building is done using blocks, which snap together with ease. Your child will be able to hear and feel the pieces clicking into place.

All of the pieces are durable and should withstand the nonstop racing action your child is bound to partake in. Children will have no problem working with various pieces to build ramps on their own; however, some adult assistance may be needed for certain elements.

Once the track is assembled, it is fairly portable, but there might be a few loose segments depending on how you design your ramp.

Use Other TRIO Hot Wheels for Stunt Ramp Action

One car is included in the set, but the fun doesn't have to stop with one! There are more Hot Wheels TRIO race cars to build and race on the Stunt Ramp Builder, including Hot Wheels TRIO Bone Shaker, Rodger Dodger, and Urban Agent (additional cars sold separately).

When I first saw Trio blocks, I thought they were just another Lego wannabe. But this is something new. It has blocks, sticks, and panels. The blocks have holes in them that fit pegs on the sticks and panels. That allows the child to rapidly build up high or build airplane wings, etc.--anything that needs distance but not thickness. The blocks are also able to connect to other blocks like traditional building toys where the top of one fits into the bottom of the next row. We've had Trio blocks (this and another set) in the house for 3 months now and in regular use, and no parts have broken yet.

The Hot Wheels Super Stunt Builder set combines a car track with a building toy and you can use it for either one or both at any time. The set contains a building base, racing car, launcher ramp for the car, and blocks to build a structure to support the ramp. It has some specialized pieces but it's mostly versatile pieces and it was clearly meant for plenty of creative experimentation. That is, it doesn't follow the trend in "building" toys to be just snap-together play sets, it really is intended to be taken apart and turned into other things on a regular basis.

There are directions for some basic ramp possibilities with it and I'd call them about medium in clarity--sometimes it wasn't clear when an action was to be repeated and I sometimes had to think (not that there's anything wrong with that) about how a section I was building would connect to the rest of it. On the positive side, the pictures in the directions look like what you're supposed to actually build and they include two major layouts and one variation layout.

The main layout is a high slide that the car rolls down when you lift the launcher by one of its handles. Cleverly, it has no springs or mechanism to cock first, so it's not easily broken and it is easy to understand. On flat surfaces the launcher returns to the start position on its own by gravity. The car hits a flipping "gong" sort of thing as it goes by and you can set up the included barrels past that for added mayhem. The launcher and track work just fine with other wheeled toys, and it can be fun to line them up and see who can go furthest.

A tip: It's very likely that at some point your child will first destroy the elaborate version of the track and then ask you to make it work for cars again right away. No need to refuse. The panels make it easy to build high in a hurry if you need to. Just build a tower with four panels and layers of bricks between them and put the launcher on top and hook the track to it--time permitting, maybe build a 1-panel high support about halfway down the track. No flags, no shed on top, no elaborate railing, no walls, no gong--but the cars will still go down the track just fine.

Pro: 1) More blocks for the money than an average Trio set. 2) High repeat-play value. 3) You can play too, an adult won't get bored easily 4) Works with other Trio sets 5) No broken parts in 3 months.

Con: 1) Trio racing car driver doesn't fit anything else in the Trio world that I can find--neither the sticks nor the bricks connect to his feet, only a socket inside the car. 2) I'm still not sure whether or not the sticks part could be dangerous though they aren't sharp and nothing has happened so far. 3) The car is heavy--that's good because it really launches, but keep bare feet out of the way.

Bottom line: I plan to buy more Trio sets in the future.

I love trio blocks for my kids, and they love them too. I love how easy they are for kids to put together but that they stay together so much better than duplo. the only reason I didn't give this set 5 stars is it is quite hard for my kids (3 and 5) to put together on their own. A parent has to set the whole thing up everytime and I'd really prefer they play on their own! but when we do set it up they have a lot of fun with it. If you haven't bought a trio set before I'd recommend a basic open ended set first.

My two boys (ages 2 & 5) love cars and ramps, so I thought this would be the perfect Christmas gift for them. However, I think the part that is most difficult is that you have to build it, so even the 5 yr old isn't really too keen. Then, once it's set up, it really just one ramp to go down. Maybe as he gets older he will try different configurations, but right now, they only play with it every once in awhile. I think I liked it more than they do.

I purchased the Trio basic building set with storage and this Trio Hot Wheels stunt ramp builder. The basic building set is great. It contains a variety of pieces and allows for creativity. My son age 4 made a robot first thing off with the basic set, then rebuilt again and again. The Hot Wheels stunt ramp is less of a value. It contains a bunch of useless pieces that don't really add to the play value (two plastic flags with Trio on it, a black "roof" for the ramp setup, orange barrels, etc.). In addition think about having a toy that has a bunch of little pieces that you can only build a few ways to create a car ramp which in itself has limited play value. My son prefers to make his own car ramps using paper towel tubes, furniture, books, etc. My son enjoys the basic building set a lot more than the stunt ramp builder.

I bought this Hot Wheels Stunt Ramp set as a gift for a boy who already had a basic set of Trio blocks. I looked all over in stores and could not find them anywhere except here. The price was great and he loves them. The recommended age is up to 5, but the little boy I bought them for was turning six so I believe a little older age will still like them. He and his dad love building different things with Trio blocks. Simple and easy to use for younger age kids who like to build things and use their imagination.

I wanted to give my son a durable track, in which I could play with different cars, also that I could have fun assembling different designs of the track. It is different from conventional tracks, especially electric ones, but this track guarantees that you will have a long lasting toy

This toy has good play value since it can be reconfigured into different track styles. Older children (and parents!) can follow simple, step-by-step, non-verbal diagrams for each style, or they can be creative and build their own. Individual parts are safe for little ones. Once a track is built, the car can whoosh down and hit prearranged barrels, etc., or two smaller cars can race; although not all Hot Wheels fit, many types do.

Well it's not Lego but my 5 year old loves it. He is able to take it apart and put it back together in all different ways. His creativity is endless. I have two grandchildren who come over a lot and I do not have to worry about small pieces. ( please check each Trio box separately)This is the third set of Trio and I would defiantly buy more. The also have Trio in my son's classroom and the boys seem to all like it.
