First of all, this toothpaste feels wonderful on my teeth and gums. The slight bubbly effect (hydrogen peroxide) and the minty taste feels like taking a swim in a pristine lake on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean.
Having said that, I suffer from recession, caused by gum disease. I have these pockets where the gum is pulling away from my teeth. I have excellent hygiene, but I don't see the results despite my excellent hygiene. After using this product for just 3 weeks, I went to my dentist for a routine cleaning and we saw those pockets go from about 5 to 6 millimeters to 3 to 4 millimeters all around my mouth. The only other change to my health was that I started taking a dietary supplement COQ10. So I can't be 100% sure my improvement is due to the toothpaste, but my dentist thinks it is. It could be both, but I think this product is the main factor.
In addition, it really whitens teeth. I drink about 6 cups of coffee a day and I see my white teeth now instead of the ugly yellow teeth.
I'm so happy I finally found something that gives me the results I was desperately needed.

Colgate Optic White
I received the Optic White Toothbrush, Toothpaste, and Mouthwash to try complimentary from Influenster(.com). I will never use another toothpaste EVER again. The FIRST time I used the toothpaste, I could tell it already removed a lot of surface stains from the major amounts of tea, coffee and Coke I drink. I was in love. The regimen includes brushing and using the mouthwash for 60 seconds twice a day. I had the Sparkling Mint flavor for the toothpaste and I really liked the flavor. Not harsh at all. The mouthwash IS harsh for me. I don't normally use mouthwash, but I quickly got used to it after a few days. The drink is to lean forward and have the mouthwash pool over your front teeth while you swish instead of laying on your tongue. AFter about 30 seconds, the mouthwash starts to foam, and the mouthwash isn't so harsh. I learned to take a smaller amount because the foam does expand a bit, and I have small mouth. Colgate promises to whiten 3 shades in 5 days, AND IT FULFILLED IT'S PROMISE! I will never buy another toothpaste again!
