I used this charger within hours of purchasing it on a battery that I thought was past its life. I had attempted to charge the battery on a cheap generic copy cat charger that I had purchased elsewhere. But when I put that battery in this charger it began to charge right away. The green light lit up and the battery was charged within an hour or so. Anyone who has a Canon camera that you have spent a couple of hundred dollars on, it is well worth purchasing this charger for a little bit more then the generic one and have it charge your batteries properly. I would recommend purchasing this charger to anyone without hesitation.
