Product Description
The most famous shark of all time is back…bigger and more terrifying than ever in Jaws 3 starring Dennis Quaid, Bess Armstrong, Simon MacCorkindale and Louis Gossett Jr. Everyone at Florida's Sea World is thrilled with the new "Undersea Kingdom," a maze of underwater plexiglass tunnels that permits visitors to get closer to marine life than ever before. The opening ceremonies include many important guests…and one uninvited baby shark who accidentally enters the park's lagoon through a faulty sea gate and subsequently dies. The young shark's 35-foot mother soon follows her offspring, creating the most horrifying tale of terror ever filmed in the water. Directed by Joe Alves, the original Jaws designer, and co-written by Carl Gottlieb, who penned the first two blockbusters, this action-packed adventure will have you screaming for your life.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2023I recall seeing this movie in theaters back when a friend worked at the theater and I saw it free. The story is no better than that of say, Sharknado. Ok, it’s good enough for the third entry into the “franchise” of Jaws. It has enough of a plot to get you into the movie. Now, the real attraction is that the film has been retitled back to the original JAWS 3D instead of the more accessible version that has been shown since its theatrical release, Jaws 3.
I hoped the 3D effects would translate to home video well and to my surprise, they really do! Today, the 3D effects are not as in-your-face as they were back when they made them for theaters in lesser quantities. Also, they were shot with actual 3D cameras and shown using the special setups to create the illusion of 3D. So, how did this translate to home video?
Things that were featured to “pop” off the screen like a floating arm, the titles, and a severed head were so in your face you could reach out and “touch” them (figuratively speaking that is). The natural feeling of the scenes also look good. They play around with little things that are visually pleasing, like when a beer bottle slides down the bar towards the camera, or when the camera tracks through a scene with objects at various depths. These add to the visual appeal. Even conversations get greater attention due to their visual appeal as the backgrounds are thrown further into the background and the subjects are more focused in the visual field.
Some of the more dynamic visuals are when they blue-screen the shark as it attacks the underwater structure, which is, of course, the focal point for the film. In this movie, Sea World has a unique new underwater structure which allows visitors to explore the sea from a safe vantage point, or is it safe? That is the main purpose for this movie. We know it’s unsafe. And thank god it’s unsafe or this is a documentary. lol
As a visual representation of 3D, this movie gives you what you want—lingering 3D shots. Severed limbs, skeletons and fish coming at you give you what you want visually, while the story goes through the motions of the structure of setups and payoffs you can predict. Just don’t expect Casablanca and you should be fine. The 3D is definitely better than I recalled from my previous experience with this film, and the sound is good enough to give you the “theater experience” if you have a decent sound system. The music, not created by John Williams this time around (he composed for Jaws and Jaws 2) is still working in this entry because they liberally sprinkle the original theme from Williams into the soundtrack.
Yes, this was definitely worth the sub-$10 price tag. It also has the 2D version, which I already had in a Jaws 2, 3 and Revenge set**. It’s definitely a fun watch and even better in 3D.
**I do want to add that I have discovered after the fact, that the Jaws 3 BluRay which was part of the Jaws 2, 3, and Revenge set, ALSO has the Jaws 3D version on that disc rendering (for me, anyway) this purchase unnecessary. Just like when I discovered that there are two included 3D titles in the Universal Studios Monsters collection on BluRay. Two, Creature of the Black Lagoon, titles have 3D included.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2017Now opened for entertainment is the newer & better sea world.
& its got all sorts attractions.
A humongous shark is about to ruin nearly everything this sea world has to offer.
The massive shark that will leave us viewers stunned. Which devours everything she encounters, The story begins
when a young shark claiming to be the relative of the bigger shark comes into the parks habitat.
& after getting captured dies.
The bigger shark unleashes terror on anyone in the water who's thinking nothing can go wrong.
This shark out of all the Jaws movies is the deadliest one, & you just better pray you can get away from. The new sea world park is welcoming visitors & a friend of Calvin's (Louis Gosset Junior) named Phillip Fitz Royce (Simon Mac Corkindale)
One who makes a living as a photographer him & his partner Jack.
He survives for the first hour before dying at the last 1/2 hour of the movie.
Among all the Jaws movies I've seen this shark here is truly the scariest one of all. I think that's what the director of the movie was shooting for, & this shark means business!
Her mission was to devour every human who entered the lagoon. Making the area completely unsafe.
Having dealt with the younger shark, Mike & Kate must now deal with the sharks mother & save the park before its ruined.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2012CONS:
1- They decide to catch a "baby" great white shark to make it a media event. Yet they never bother to contact the media about said shark. The most they do is place ads at rest stops and welcome centers? Rather lackluster, I'd say.
2- They place the afore mentioned shark on display in a knee-high pool. In real life it's the stingray petting pool at Sea World. This is what the filmmakers used to double as a shark tank? Patrons are allowed to stand around the sides, leaning over the water? If somebody is pushed from behind, they're a goner. Hell, any kid could just reach out and have his hand bitten off! It's a lawsuit waiting to happen and severely hurts the suspension of disbelief for moviegoers. It's the only real production design flaw... But it's a big one.
3- The mother great white doesn't kill nearly enough people. It's first big rampage through the park results in only a few injuries. That's it. There were two big groups of water skiers that the shark swam directly under... Yet all escaped unscathed. Very disappointing.
Having said all that, I can't help but love JAWS 3. While it's obviously not the masterpiece that the original JAWS was, this sequel has a lot going for it.
PROS:
1- Music and Sound: The tonal underwater sound effects were often very creepy... As was the music, when it needed to be. And for the fun scenes, the score was uplifting and soaring. It may not be up to John Williams standards, but then again, most scores aren't. I'd gladly buy a CD of the music if it existed.
2- The acting for all involved was good and the characters were likable.
3- Best of all, the overall feel of JAWS 3 is like a 1950s monster movie. I mean, the shark is 35 feet long, for crying out loud! That's quite a behemoth. And the story and tone were very similar to the 1955 sequel to "Creature From The Black Lagoon"... A movie called, "Revenge of the Creature." Both took place at sea parks and involved a lot of camp. It's hard to dislike either film though both pale in comparison to their originals.
In the end, I'd say JAWS 3 is my favorite of the JAWS sequels. Mind you, I didn't say it was the best. Part 2 is obviously a far more competently made motion picture. I just personally enjoy JAWS 3 more... In spite of its obvious flaws. Affection and competence do not always go hand in hand. And, to repeat what I said earlier in this review... I love JAWS 3. I forgive its flaws and embrace its jaws!

5.0 out of 5 stars Esto si que es 3D

5.0 out of 5 stars Recibí lo que ofrecieron

5.0 out of 5 stars Jaws: The SeaWorld Incident!
A fantastic new plot to the original Jaws-style shark flick. Unfortunately, the CGI at this time was not very good. At all. This is the only thing that takes away from this surprisingly good Jaws sequel!
