I purchased this to have a backup charger at work for my Palm Pre. I didn't want the additional expense of a second touchstone.
This product works very well. I have been using this cable for a few days plugged into a USB port without any issues. I have used it for all 3 options-- Media Sync, USB Drive, and Just Charge, all worked fine.
I have read a number of reviews for various cables that don't work with the Touchstone; I plugged this one in to the Touchstone and it worked fine. I believe part of the issue on those is that the mini USB cable end isn't long enough to fit in the Touchstone, but I did not have any problems connecting this specific cable.
If you are buying this to use with a Touchstone, keep in mind that you will need to purchase a USB outlet adapter, as well. (The touchstone won't work with the cable plugged into a USB port; it must be plugged into an outlet.)
Pros: good price, works well, works with the Touchstone, performs all required tasks
Cons: a bit short (about 40 inches/1 meter long); if using with a Touchstone you must also purchase the USB outlet adapter.

Product recieved as advertised. only issue that i found with it ( which was stated in othe reviews as well) is the plug is a little tight into the charge port on phone. I am cautious when I plug phone in so as not to damage the charge port. Other than that it is an awesome product at a price that is so much better then buying from the cell phone retail store. Thank You

I purchased 3 of these cables because they were cheap and got good reviews. I don't know how people are getting these cables to work... but out of the 3 I bought, 0 have functioned properly with my Palm Pre! The best I can do is get it to charge, though the entire time it is charging the computer is complaining about "Unknown Device" and "Could not install drivers" even though it works beautifully with the original cable. The only setting that works is "Just Charge"! Each of the 3 cables fails slightly differently which makes me believe that each has a different flaw! I've tried this with my Wife's Palm Pixi as well as used different computers and that failed as well. Look elsewhere when attempting to purchase a cable for your Palm device!

I bought this recently and did not expect much, as it was only $2.99 shipped to my door. For that much money, how can you go wrong? So, I have not used it to transfer data yet, as it it plugged into my PC at work just for charging. When plugged in, my Palm Pixi prompts me, just as the factory cable does, to transfer or charge. I have used this cable about 10x to charge now, and it works great! Do not hesitate to purchase this if you need another cable, or two!

Am very disappointed. It is a cheap cable, but it barely works. I have to practically hold it in place for it work. Also, charges so slowly! I plugged in my phone before bed when it was at 6%, took me a few minutes to position everything so it would charge without me having to old it in, when I woke up about 7 hours later, it wasn't even to 60%!

This is a standard computer-to-microUSB cable and it will work with a Pre for data connections and so on. Because it is not the OEM cable the title may be regarded as suggesting, it will NOT fit a Touchstone. The cable is noticeably shorter (about two feet shorter...) than the OEM cable, which may be an advantage when used to connect the Pre to a car charger, and at the computer console.

The cable worked great with the pre if you need an extra one, but I suggest purchasing the whole unit--plug and all, not just the cable, because with shipping and handling it gets to be the same price.

My son was without a charger and had to use mine. When I came across this Palm PRe Charging USB 2.0 Data Cable, I bought it right away. My son and I couldn't be happier with it. We received it as soon as I ordered it. That's how fast the delivery was and packaged very secure. It was new and works well and surpassed the one he bought at a store that sells the cell phone accessories. Good quality. Definitely, worth buying for a replacement or extra cord.
