Thermaltake claims the Level 10 GT is targeted for "High Performance Gaming" and "Super Airflow Chassis" applications, which would seem rather fitting. There are three mammoth 200mm fans in this case, as well as a 140mm rear exhaust fan and the option for a bottom 120mm intake fan. If you're looking for increased airflow, the Level 10 GT should offer up more than just a cool breeze. Two of those 200mm fans are also covered by removable, washable air filters, thankfully. More on this later. You'll also notice in the spec list above, that the case only weighs about 28lbs. With the handle on the top of this chassis, for a full tower, it's actually fairly easy to move around. Finally, if you thought the original Level 10 GT wasn't bold enough, as you can see, our Snow Edition model here pretty much jumps out at you. We call it the "Storm Trooper" around the lab. Contrasted in flat black and white, this chassis would easily blend into the set of the George Lucas classic.
Exterior Design, Materials and Worksmanship
The Level 10 GT Snow Edition is all about contrast, from its straight-up black and white color scheme to the carved compartments that mark each of the major component areas. And yeah, the original Level 10 and Level 10 GT black version chassis stood out a bit but, as you can see, the Level 10 GT Snow Edition is a major league head-turner.
The 5.25-inch drive bays are of a toolless design that allow you to snap optical drives into place with a locking mechanism. This is a quality design approach that makes the installation process that much easier and plenty robust. The Level 10 GT's 3.5-inch hard drive bays are a hot-swap style setup that allow you to release a drive sled with the push of a button. The sleds also have 2.5-inch mounting holes to afford you the ability to install SSDs or any 2.5" form-factor drive for that matter. The only small complaint we have with these sleds are that they're made of an all-plastic construction and they feel flimsy. Also, for whatever reason, the drive rack doesn't do a good job of dampening noisy hard drive head access during operation, unfortunately. On the up-side, the entire rack is setup with a 5-plug SATA power cable that connects each bay nicely. Just plug a single 4-pin molex connector into your power supply, connect your SATA data cables and you're done. This is a really nice feature, because it always seems that cable management for SATA power cables is a challenge. More on cable management inside the Level 10 GT, later.
Count 'em up; that's four USB 2.0 ports, an eSATA port and two USB 3.0 ports, as well as headphone and microphone jacks, all setup for front and top panel access. Nice. You also get a fan speed switch which allows for control of those huge 200mm fans in the case. On high, you can pump a ton of fresh air into this thing, for not a whole lot more noise. On low, the chassis is whisper quiet. You also are provided the luxury of removable, washable fan filters for the side intake fan and in the bottom of the chassis, where an optional 120mm fan can reside, next to your power supply and its intake fan.
Finally, on the top control panel of the Level 10 GT there is also a Fan LED control switch that allows you to set lighting color for each of the three 200mm fans inside the chassis. You can choose between blue, red, green, a cycle of all three or no lighting at all. You want glam and bling, this classy chassis has it.
Interior Design and Layout
When it comes to the interior design and layout, the Level 10 GT, no matter which color you choose, is a lesson in design and build simplicity. From its clean cable management features to ample and proper spacing between component areas, the Level 10 GT sets up easier than just about any full-sized case we've monkeyed with to date. Incidentally, the Level 10 GT also supports Extended ATX motherboards, if you're a sucker for punishment in that regard.
The side panel door of the Level 10 GT is actually hinged and is easily removable just by lifting it off its hinge. Thermaltake also designed a simple contact connector between the door and the main chassis, that connects the side intake fan to a power source, without the fuss or muss of a cable run. Again, it's the little things like this that make all the difference. The side intake fan also has a set of louvers behind it that can be positioned with a small lever on the exterior of the case. With this, you can direct airflow from this fan, inside the case.
Rubber grommet-lined cable pass-throughs in various strategic areas inside the case and out the back panel, serve for both interior cable management and flow tubing for water cooling. Again, setting up this case for impeccable, clean cable management and uninhibited airflow and cooling, couldn't be any easier.
Even backside cable management behind the motherboard tray is easily accommodated by the back panel design. It's a slide-off panel type but Thermaltake left plenty of room behind the motherboard tray, to stuff that 24-pin ATX power cable and anything else you want in there and out of site. Also, take note of the motherboard socket area cutout in the motherboard tray. This allows for a bit more air flow around the backside of the motherboard socket area. Once again, we're impressed with the forethought that went into this design.
Final Thoughts
The Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition performance PC case is definitely not for those that like a subdued, minimalistic look. Its over-the-top appearance may put off some, but for the enthusiast DIY set, this case definitely makes a statement with its cool-factor alone. The good news is, the Level 10 GT Snow Edition isn't just a cool looking case. It's also well-built for the most part and definitely well thought-out in terms of its design. Ease of system build, great airflow and clean cable management were clearly a priority when Thermaltake went to the drawing board with this chassis. At this price, the Level 10 GT Snow Edition is definitely a premium case, but if you're looking to build a killer gaming rig and aren't shy of taking a walk on the wild side, this case definitely has the chops.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2011I purchased this to replace an older case with less than adequate airflow and a number of other issues, and right from taking this thing out of the box I was impressed with it.
Sturdy design, no sharp edges, and a number of features that will be incredibly hard to live without should you have to use a different case. Risers are pre-installed in the case for ATX form factor, and are clearly marked right on the mounting wall for whatever form factor you need to work with should you have to change them. The case comes with cable ties and generous bags full of different types of screws for whatever you're using.
The cable management system that the case is designed with is nothing short of brilliant. The case has rubber grommets spread throughout various holes that serve to both hold cables in place and to allow cabling to be threaded behind the motherboard tray, serving to hide all of your cables behind the backplate of the case and out of the way of any fans. Airflow is improved, aesthetically it's better, and it just works better than anything I've used before. There are some complaints I've read about the backplate not allowing more room for the cables, but aside from being a tight fit to put back on (using a Corsair TX650 PSU) it could house considerably more with a few cable ties. Most of the stray cables can be clustered to the side of the drive bays where there's plenty of room to hold them and still fit the case together easily. A modular PSU would be perfect here, but not necessary.
The side door is outstanding. It's solid quality, durable and easy to use, and simple to remove when you're doing the initial build (it just lifts off the hinges). More cases should do this, especially the way this one does where no separate cable for the side door fan is hanging across everything or needing to be disconnected every time you open the case.
The PCI slot design is different than anything else I've seen before, and I really like it. Cards slot onto a tray with thumbscrews mounted on the back of the case to allow easy removal without tools, and a removable plate above them locks everything securely into place. No more trying to get screws in at an awkward angle from inside the case, just remove the thumbscrews, pop the plate, remove the thumbscrews for the card, and that's it...no tools and no flimsy locking bar like you find on some "tool-less" cases that never fits on dual slot cards or actually holds your cards in place.
The drive trays were a spot where I expected trouble or disappointment, but they're sturdy and easy to use. Push the button, slide the tray in or out, and that's it. The only thing I didn't like here was that 3.5" drives attach to the trays with an odd type of washer screw that came with the case; I'm not sure I'd be able to find these if I lost the bag that came with the case, or that regular mounting screws would work since there's a little room between the drive tray and HDD. SSD mounting was simple with regular mounting screws, and the drive trays have mounting holes to accommodate the smaller form factor. Both types of drives slide in and lock easily, with no awkward pressure on the ports or risk of damage. The drives all use a single power cable, as well, making it really easy to set this up and keep cabling to a minimum.
All in all, the case is more or less perfect and is no question the best I've owned. It's very quiet even on high fan settings, airflow seems great even on low, and the fan LED's aren't overkill on brightness (and can be turned off if desired anyway). The buttons are sturdy, and the external ports aren't flimsy and don't feel cheap. The biggest con against the case is that it's expensive, but I can't see using another case unless form factor changes in the future require it; this is built to last and I can see using it for years even if I buy different components to fill it.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 12, 2015Color: WhiteVerified PurchaseHonestly, this case is amazing. It really is. I just received it yesterday and wow, just wow. I saw a lot of complaints about the hot swap drive ports, and I saw some previous pictures of how that part looks and connects, it's completely different now. It's now like a plate with solid connectors on it and it's screwed nicely in place and my drives slid in perfectly. One power port for all of them, an open sata port for each drive if you'd like to not use the hot swap(Which I'm not). The fans are amazing, pretty dang quiet for a case with 3 200mm fans in it. The LED's are high quality, a few different settings that are very nice. There is literally nothing wrong with my case, I did see some people complaining about scratches on the window, but I noticed that the scratches were in the inside of the window, and then after looking, I found a protective film that was kind of hard to see, but when I removed that those scratches went away and the window is untouched.
This thing is just a beast, absolutely massive, but so worth it. It's clean as heck. No scratches at all. All the ports are working beautifully. The airflow is so good my computer isn't heating up at all, without liquid cooling my CPU is at a nice 50c under load, which in my previous case it was getting up to like 83c. I can't express how much I love this case.
Like I said, I know there's a lot of reviews and pictures and stuff of the model that was clearly before the one they are sending out now, because I had 0 issues with anything, including the drive slots and ports. If you are considering buying this, really considering it, do it. You will not be displeased at all. It's beautiful. I'll post some pictures later.

5.0 out of 5 stars Capiente, spazioso ed enorme

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Fast!
The amazing fast a free shipping made it IMPOSSIBLE to find this case in such a good deal anywhere else.
Perfect fully loaded full-size atx tower case, all the bells and whistles. front usb 3.0, large intake and exhaust fans, all intakes have anti dust guards, hot swappable drive bays, lockable case entry, handle, different light settings, and most important of all, lots of room for large graphic cards and Sli.
I would absolutely recommend this case to anyone looking for a large beefy case with a powerful bold look.

4.0 out of 5 stars Un gran chasis

5.0 out of 5 stars Es una gozada de caja
