Experts believe that silver alloy, used today as sterling silver, originated in continental Europe in the 12th century. Pure silver was found to be a soft and easily damageable material. I think maybe it is priced a little high, for the quality of the charms. Chains are very good quality.(Stainless steel) Charms are fair. (Sterling silver) I'm hoping they can be worn at all times, & don't tarnish too fast or rust.

    I bought these 2 necklaces for my boyfriend and I since we live far from each other. Being the romantic I know and love, he adored it and wears his every day. :) The chains are very sturdy and well-made (even the thinner one), and the pieces are absolutely beautiful! (Oh, and just to note, the necklace/clasp hasn't gotten caught in my hair. I always have issues with that, but this necklace has yet to cause this problem. I have really long hair, so those things like to get stuck.) The pieces together are about the size of a quarter, so they're not too gaudy. I got this about a month ago, and have wore it almost every single day ever since. So far, there are no issues. It's still as shiny as I got it, though, I try to keep it out of the water as much as possible. I was a bit iffy about buying this at first, but now that I have it, I would buy it again. :D

    I looked for a Mizpah coin necklace set that was not cheap but not some sort of fine jewelry piece. It is the best of the bunch. The pendants are stamped 928 USA. The chain is probably stainless. The coin pendants are very nice. Appear to be silver with gold plating and are very attractive. They don't look cheap and have some weight to them. The chain is basic but attractive and suit the purpose. The only reason I do not give this five stars is the way the pendant attaches could be a better grade hoop and looks like it may fail eventually. Both my girlfriend and I love these. Hope to wear it for a long time. It's truly one of the nicest Mizpah sets I've seen for the price.

    I think that the seller might have tried to make this item look as though it was worth more in value than what it actually is, by advertising that it was marked down from a very expensive price. When in actuality, it probably wasn't previously priced for more than what I paid for it. You can believe me when I say that I would never have purchased this item for more than $20.00. But, it was claimed to have been marked down from around $100.00. I bought if for close to $25.00. In my opinion, though, the item is cheap in quality. The chains are thin and feel like they're easily breakable, and the two plates are so little and thin that, instead of regular metal they feel like di-cast metal. I was thoroughly dissappointed!
