    This tablet is great!!! I had 2 Cobys and gave them both back. Pieces of junk! This tablet is fast, finds satellites, wifi and will work off 3G as well!! It's been compared to the IPAD and after playing with an IPAD yesterday I see why! It's awsome!

    Archos is providing a good product at low price. My intial experience was little sad on this product, first of look is very plastic and all the joints having sufficient visible gaps. Aesthetic not attractive.

    On performance side intially its very slow also its crashes very often. Android market was not working that you can not install the applications.

    But all these has made OK after updating the firmware. Now machine is very stable.

    Touch screen is very nice and animations, kinetic flow,animations all are very nice.

    Camera is hope less, and its wrost than a normal mobile camera.

    Kick stand is very useful and machine is little bulky to carry.

    GPS software is not available on it other thatn online google maps.

    NDrive is not compatibile on it. Sygic Navigation will work on it.

    May be i had so much expectations on it and its served only 75% of it.

    BUt over all considering the amount I spent for it makes me to :-)

    Got it for a remarkably low $230.99 delivered here on Amazon, plus it arrived in 2 days! After I unboxed it and charged it up, I stepped through the Archos Wizard setup which includes wifi settings. It showed "connected" to my WPA-2 router but it would not communicate. Archos tech support- less than a minute on hold- was very helpful in explaining that the 101 G9 sometimes has issues with WPA security. After resetting my security to the less secure WEP standard, it hooked right up.

    I downloaded the February 2012 Archos Android 3.2.1 update and it loaded without any problem; After that it was smooth sailing all the way! I find it to be a fast tablet of decent quality that does everything as advertised. Other reviews mentioned poor build quality, but I don't agree. Every fit & finish detail about it appears well executed.

    I've only owned it for a day, but based on the overall very positive experience I think it's a keeper. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the WPA issue.

    I will post an update if it turns out to have problems; if you don't see any updates from me "no news is good news"...

    I bought this tablet in December 2011. Six months later I started experiencing lots of problems; freezing at least 2 to 3x during use, overheating, flashing screen, keyboard not working properly. I contacted Archos and they asked me to return the tablet to them which cost me $25! Archos was very efficient by sending me a second tablet in good time. Guess what? 3 weeks later the freezing was back! Am I so out of luck that I got 2 lemons in 8 months? or is the product a bad product? I strong believe that the Archos 101G8 is a TERRIBLE! machine! it is receiving more and more bad reviews. I called Archos to explain my situation and ask for a refund by returning the 2nd defective tablet. They turned me down even though the tablet was brand new and of course under the 1 year Archos warranty. This time I was able to negotiate with them to send me a COD label. They accepted and now I'm waiting for the 3 tablet! My advice is DO NOT BUY this machine! Save your money to get something by a better manufacter and better built. Small IPads are going to be here soon for affordable prices. My Archos now cost me $390!! and I don't have it with me again! Now, I immensely regret for not having purchased the new IPad. I want to thanks Amazon for their wonderful customer service. They are real professionals that care about their customers. It's also fair to say that Archos CS wasn't bad. They did by the book. We shall see what's coming for me ahead. Will I finally be able to enjoy my tablet? To be continued...

    This tablet has several nice features including the add on 3G card. Quality, both in the feel of the product and in the fact that the unit I received had a problem: The edge of the touch screen on the logo side kept thinking someone was touching it and would, by itself press the back button or whatever functionality was at that location.

    Great tablet for the price! It has met my needs. I previously bought the archos 101 and wanted to try a upgraded version. I use it to watch my netflix movies in my big screen. Easy set up, faster processor than my previous one.
    I wish archos would to generate newer versions. Even though it only has one speaker, the sound is great!
