It works... but with many shortcomings

- Reviewed in the United States on March 11, 2011I love this MP3 it is so worth the money, it holds so many tunes and also has an FM radio that is easy to use and navigate, I just hooked it into my computer with its USB provided and immediately started downloading the music. Battery life is very long. and the size is perfectly small for work. I love it so much I am going to buy a blue one too. :)
- Reviewed in the United States on May 30, 2011I recently purchased this item for my husband who is a very simple person and really has no knowledge of electric devices. It was really simple to set up for him and for him to remember and comprehend its use. It is pretty small but worth every penny. Up to now no issues with it. Good deal for the money paid.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2011I lost my 4GB Sansa Clip+ so I thought this would be a decent, inexpensive solution. This player has a lot of features but does none of them well. Music sounds as though you are hearing it through a cotton wall. Can't see the display unless you're in a cave, can't shuffle between artists unless you put all the individual music file into root storage, the battery life (?...what?). I timed it three times. Less than 2.5 hours and getting worse. The package stated 20+ hours! The UI is annoying yet I would be able to live with that if not for all the other flaws. I didn't even try the voice recorder for fear that I would only wind up pulling the hair outta my head. At least I got a hearty laugh when I heard the speaker. What I'm trying to say is, in case you haven't guessed, spring the extra $20 for the Sansa Clip+. You won't be sorry. Bargains are not usually what they appear to be!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 14, 2013For the price, it was okay. Definitely go for something worth more for the quality though. This broke after a few days. Found it broken lying around the house. Don't know if someone stepped or sat on it by accident, but it was completely done for after that. The speaker was a pretty cool addition to this little player, but the sound quality was bad even through earphones. The screen itself was obviously cheap. The symbols and text are very small. The backlight was just as bad. The player is extremely light and very small. It's made of plastic, and the keys clicked loudly. It was a bad choice, even for the low price. I wouldn't recommend this.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 17, 2011I own several MP3 players, so I had certain minimum expectations: I wanted to be able to stop and start from where I left of, and I wanted to be able to control the volume up and down with a single button. This MP3 player does not do either of these simple functions. If someone figured out how to do either of these functions, I would greatly appreciate a response via comments with your tips.
Below is complete run down of my likes and dislikes for the player.
I liked:
1. The clip on the player is very nice, I like being able to clip it to anything (update: it broke off after 2 months of occasional use)
2. I like having a speaker in addition to the earphones. Granted it is not a great speaker, but sometimes you want to continue listening without the earphones and it is handy
3. Nice size
4. Controls are reasonably easy to use, even though the screen is very small and text is tiny and hard to see, but controls themselves are solid
5. You recharge the unit either by plugging into USB port of the computer, or to the included recharger with USB port. This little recharger might be the best part of the package. I already used it to recharge my phone.
I don't like:
1. When you stop listening, the device has no memory where you left off and you have to remember and navigate to the same place using the tiny screen. This is almost a deal breaker for me, as I want to listen to recorded lectures and finding the place where I left off is very difficult.
2. You can make volume control louder with a press of one button, but I did not found a way to lower the sound with one button. I found how to do it by navigating the controls though several levels of menus. When you are out and about it is difficult as the screen is small and I can't see the menus well, and if you are in the sun - forget it. I found that I can lower the volume by pulling the earphone a bit out of my ear. This is how I have been doing it - pretty crude.
3. As I mentioned the screen is small, the text is small and faint, it is hard to see in good light, not possible to use in the sun light.
Note: what you see in the stock photo is not real text, but a plastic screen cover with printed text. I only wish the text was so big and bright as that image.
4. The recharger does not indicate when the unit is fully charged. It has a red light which stays on red (apparently indicating that it is plugged in only), it never turns green as I expected to tell me the unit is fully charged. I left it plugged it for over 24 hours. (see attached photo)
5. It is very hard to see when the unit is charged or lower on charge. It has tiny bars somewhere on the display, but they are very hard to see because they are so small. My other units take regular AAA, so I can just carry a spare AAA battery and replace it when it is out juice, but not with this unit. You need to plan ahead when to recharge it, but planning is not easy when it is hard to see that the unit is low.
6. The manual is useless, it does not have much information. There is a version of the manual loaded on the MP3 it self or you can down load a "full" version from the web site. I read both, they are almost identical. The full version has more legal disclaimers. However, as example, neither tells you that the menu button is the "execute" key. It is the key which you need to push to complete the operation. You have to figure that out on your own.
I bought this unit as a lightening deal, so at that discounted price of $17 I am keeping it as a backup. But I would not buy it again and I cannot recommend it.

After two months of occasional use, the only feature that I really liked - the clip - broke off. One of the two little plastic pegs on the back that hold the clip completely broke off. I was gently opening the clip to attach it to my shirt.

I bought another MP3 player which I am very happy with SanDisk Sansa Clip+ 4 GB MP3 Player (Black), Visual Land V-Clip is in the trash. The only thing I use from this purchase is the recharger, which I like because of its slim configuration (it takes only one slot on the power strip).

- Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2011I bought this for my 8 year old . The price had a lot to do with choice. I bought my older kids the SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB MP3 Player (Black) and they totally love it. In comparison the Visual V-clip is harder to navigate because of the menu. The kids eventually figured it all out with no help from me, lol The sound quality is very good and we all like the fact that this can be heard without headphones very clearly. The headphones are adjustable and are very comfortable to use. The display is easy to read. The radio works well and we get a lot of stations to tune in. The clip, however, was a bust as it broke the first day he used it. As far as uploading the music my daughter had to create a folder for the music to upload into. Then you just drag and drop the music into it. The voice recorder also works well.
Overall, I feel this is a little more work then other mp3 players we have used but for sound and play-ability it works for us.
