After reading other reviews I was worried about the quality of this item, but those worries have vanished. It is a little flimsy, I wouldn't hand it to a toddler, but it's not going to fall apart just from using it in a normal manner. The original version is far too expensive, even with the weaker build quality you could buy an army of these knock offs.

The actual flash memory itself seems decent, although I purchased it more as a display piece. It's not horribly slow or fast, but I have used it quite a bit as a bootable drive and it functions in that respect quite well.

I've had it well over a year now with no real problems.

Great drive, very well done. Obviously it's very cheap workmanship, and if you're going to use this as your daily use USB drive, it won't be long before the legs break off and it falls apart. Great as a novelty item though. Mine sits on my desk and always gets the comment from people asking why I still play with toys, and when I push the USB out, they love it.

I seem to recall seeing this Transformer thumb drive advertised at another website as being die-cast metal and the price being set at $49.00. When I saw this on Amazon for roughly a third of the price, I bought it. It's plastic, not die-cast metal, but hey, I got what I paid for. It's not very sturdy, though it does 'transform' into the Ravage figure and back fairly easily and does look pretty cool sitting atop my PC tower.

Two gripes: 1) 4gb isn't much these days but then I knew what the capacity was when I bought it. I didn't buy this for the storage, I bought it because its a Transformer. On the plus side, it is a working thumb drive. 2) The thumb drive is a real pain to work with. The figure's head folds under and the drive itself is supposed to slide right out. It DOES NOT slide right out. I literally kid you not that I have to force the drive out of it's housing, making me nervous that I will break it in the process. This may be specific only to the drive I happen to possess but still, it's frustrating. Okay, maybe not really frustrating for me since, as I stated, I didn't really buy this for the storage.

If you are really dead set on using this as a functional thumb drive, by all means have at it. Just know that when the Transformer is folded down into it's "thumb drive mode" its legs tend to fold back out on their own and snag on things. That means if you wanted to shove it into your pocket to carry around, you might actually break it just retrieving it from your pants. Also, I'd judge it highly impractical as a key ring.

If you buy this, buy it as a collector's item or out of nostalgia for childhood. Fold it out into it's Ravage panther mode and set it somewhere conspicuous on your desk. It that way, this is actually awesome.

now im a huge transformers fan, so i tranformerd this easyily, but new people to the tranformer central might have trouble with this. WARNING it does not come with directions. the flashdrives usable, make sure nothings in the port next to the one your using, and kind of bend the legs back a bit to give it more room. this is a realy neat transformer model, great work!.

It's all clever how the USB drive folds and unfolds. The design is awesome and the device works just fine. With mine being new, the actual USB drive is a bit sticky and requires some work to get the device out in order to plug it into the computer. And by work, I mean quite a bit of work. The tail also kind of broke on me on the first day I got it, with the little pin bouncing off and disappearing for good. So I have a tail-less cat transformer now.

I had always wanted one of these USBs, and as soon as I saw the price I bought this in an instant. I have had 0 issues so far, and I've successfully stored and transferred data with it, although I don't plan on using it as a usb TOO much, for fear of it breaking (an irrational one as it seems rather sturdy).

I think the only thing I would change is that it came with transforming instructions. They aren't necessary, though. After a few minutes I figured it out.

The jaw does go down pretty far, but I had it 'bite' my thumb then pushed down on the jaw and pulled my thumb out and it stayed. I don't know if that will work for everyone's but at least it did for mine.

The shipment arrived on time and undamaged. I would definitely recommend this to buy. It's great for nostalgia or even for newer fans like me.

    5/5 no regrets

I was really excited to have this because it's a transformers USB drive, how cool is that? A hidden drive that looks like a toy! Well... I ordered it sometime back and got it probably 2-3 weeks later. I really actually forgot about it. When it arrived I was happy with it, I played around folding it into a sleek car kind of thing and the tiger mode and I then proceeded to mold it to be able to use the USB drive to load a letter and some pictures I wanted to print out for a close friend that is serving time in a corrections facility. Well, I load the documents then try to pull it out and guess what? The chip/USB part stays stuck in the USB port, the "toy" part just came out. The glue had failed, what little glue they put.

To sum it up: This is a very cheap "USB" drive. It broke on me the first use and it was very poorly made. Dont suffer paying 5 dollars for this and then 5 dollars for shipping when its going to break on you after 3 weeks of waiting.

I use this device on the daily it has music and pics store on it. The first one I received did not work but the sell replaced the item hassle free that made the purchase experience five stars to me. The product itself is a nice update of Ravage since his G1 form was a tape cassette now a USB drive very nice concept. To the makers of this device now the rest of the group that Soundwave had with him need to be made to add to the collection. Word of caution this thing is not a toy, that means I would think twice before handing this thing over to a 6 year old. This is for the collector man child [like me] who can read off the stats of Transformers like NFL fans can with their favorite team.
