Very nice piece of artwork

Very nice piece of artwork
I was torn between 4 or 5 stars. I'd give it 4.5 if I could. It looks great in the light, as other reviews have stated, thereby, during the "fading light" hours of the day between daylighting and turning on your house lights, it could look a bit flat. However this is just the nature of metal painting and shouldn't be considered a con or anything against the artist. The artwork itself is great and each "tendril" seems to have different reflective properties. The only problem I had with it was that the back brackets are not perfectly lined up with each other, by a deviation of almost a quarter inch. This can be critical when your trying to get all 7 segments to line up, as any imperfection will be quite noticeable. Also note the product dimensions state 66" long. This is assuming you use their spacing. I went with half inch spacing which came out to 62" long. One last curious tid-bit was that the artist's signature was dated 2008. Old inventory?

Just finished mounting these 7 panels on one of my walls. It went very smoothly and the end result is very worth the purchase price. Let me add a few comments on installation so if you are considering this piece you will know in advance what to do.

The panels come in a fair sized box very well packed. Your first step is to unpack them and decide on how far apart each panel should be to fill your space. I used my index finger width as a convienent width measure, which put each panel close enough together for continuity and yet filling the space I needed to fill. Secondly, use a chalk line to snap a horizontal line (if mounted horizontally) and make sure this is level. What I did was then lay out the panels against the wall with the required space between them. This establishes where each panel will go on the line you just snapped. You'll need to get the spacing evened out for the entire piece. For instance, you would not want a 10 inch gap on one side and a 20 inch gap on the other. Ok, now place your first panel up against the chalk line and mark your first bracket position on the line, using the hole on the top of the panel. I used picture hangers by OOK (brand name-funny name).

Now you can hang that first panel on the first bracket, and you can now proceed across, maintaining the spacing you set up between each panel. Once you have all your brackets installed, you can clean your chalk up and then start bending the mounting brackets on the panels. They bend easily by hand. Be careful not to over do it as it is soft metal. Make an L shape out of the bracket. Try hanging it on the mounting bracket. You'll notice some panels will be uneven. No need to undo your mounting brackets at all. What you do is adjust the bend in your panel brackets. You can bend up or down and even them out nicely. You are done.

It does help to have light shining down on the panels from a powerful light source. The panels will defintely come alive under lighting. I am thinking of installing some track lighting above them to enhance them.

Once again, a great buy for some nice wall art.

We absolutely love this piece. It is exactly as depicted and described, although the colors are even more beautiful in person and change both with the light and viewing angle. We placed the piece in our dining room, and it looks phenomenal. The pieces are numbered on the back and come with an instruction sheet. We placed the individual panels 1/2" apart, which seems to work well. Our home is filled with artisan creations, and this work of art fits in perfectly. The price was extremely reasonable, as I have seen similar works for well over a thousand dollars at art shows. Incredibly, the business owner contacted me personally to ensure that I was pleased with the delivery and the art itself. This vendor definitely delivers a top-notch customer experience. I will specifically seek out his products in the future.

The picture showed yellow/gold, silver, a little orange/red and a little bit of purple. What I received had no purple and lots of orange and red. Not what I expected and not what I wanted, but will have to make it work. I wanted the purple in it to match the purple in the wall. I am pretty disappointed. With an expensive peice of art, I expect to get what is pictured.

Don't go by the shown pictures, this item is made of very thin metal and it looks very fragile.
I will be taking it down and replacing with something more substantial and of better quality.
Also the metallic effect is not as pronounced as it seems to be in the pictures.
I'm thinking that some of the reviews may not be genuine.
    Hope this helps...

This art piece is beautiful, that said I do question the relative value given the price point (kinda spendy). It's very easy to install, here's how I did it: get the first screw in the wall, then using a level of some sort (I used a Black and Decker Laser) and a tape measure, put the rest of the screws in. As another reviewer mentioned, the brackets on the panels can be bent more/less to get them perfectly level.

Measure from the middle of the bracket on each panel to it's neighbor, to save you time I'll list the relative distances (using 1/2" spacing)

    Panel #1 to panel #2 7.25"
    Panel #2 to panel #3 9.25"
    Panel #3 to panel #4 11.25"
    Panel #4 to panel #5 11.25"
    Panel #5 to panel #6 9.25"
    Panel #6 to panel #7 7.25"

I ordered this piece to fill a rather large blank wall in my dining room. Even though I knew this was a metal piece of artwork, I was surprised at how heavy it was. The instructions for hanging the piece seemed a little confusing. My husband and I just placed the panels at evenly spaced intervals instead of following the directions. The end result is fantastic. This is defintely a statment piece. Everyone that's visited my home comments on how beautiful and unique this piece is. I'd highly recommend this artwork for purchase.
