- Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2011I enjoyed this mahjong game very much. Thank goodness for the tutorial for I don't like reading instructions, but you have to use the circle control, the left and right button and the + control pad to be able to operate the game. I am glad the 3ds console was small enough to handle, for I have neuopathy of the hand and fingers and it didn't bother me.
Went through the first 20 games and now am playing the Classic Mode. I am glad that I spent 18.99 for the game for that is my 3rd 3ds game that I've purchased since I bought my console. I bought Zelda and Sims Pets and have played Mahjong 5 times longer than the other games.
Also I went to Chinese school over 51 years ago and still recognize a lot of the characters which makes it easier to play. All in all...I've enjoyed the game very much.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 20, 2014I cannot play this game at all. It takes me ages to be able to choose the correct tile with the cursor. The cursor does not go to the correct tile. I tried using my pinky, so the cursor would not fly about the board, so quickly. It is to no avail. I tried to recalibarte my 3d screen and touch screen. This did not help. You have to have a very light touch, to be able to play this game. If you don't have a very light touch, with your hands you may have the same trouble as me.. I wish the trade in value for this game was higher. I am not young, this game is impossible for me to manipulate. The graphics and the music are very nice. It would have been GREAT if you could have played this game with the stylus.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2013I played the online version of Mahjong CUB3D and was quite addicted to it, so I bought this for my mother to play on her newly acquired (read Christmas present) 3DS.
Once my mother gleefully ripped the festive gift wrapping, I got a chance to play with the game. The graphics and gameplay was similar to the one I played online with the exception of the 3D representation of the puzzle cube. The goal is to get rid of all the tiles that make up the cube by selecting to matching cubes that are not being blocked by other tiles.
The simplicity of the game is what makes it fun and addictive. However, I'm quite disappointed in how they implemented the controls. Instead of taking advantage of the stylus and touch screen, the developer choose to control the entire game (except the menu navigation) using the hard control (joystick, bumpers and buttons). For example, rotating the puzzle cube requires the use of the bumper (L1 or L2) and the rotation of the joystick. Although this is probably intuitive for those who are used to console controllers and in my opinion, it would have been more intuitive to use the stylus and touch screen to allow the user to select the tiles and rotate the cube (or use the bumper buttons for the rotation) with the 3d screen used to show the selected tiles instead of the entire cube. This method of controls would allow my mother, who has arthritis, to play a longer because it would require less strain on her finger joints.
With that said, the game is enjoyable and should provide hours of fun. As this was purchased for my mother, I wish the controls were better implemented for ease of use.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2011I am a long time fan of Mahjong, been playing it for years. I picked up this game, popped it in my 3DS and started playing it and I thought it was awesome!!! After a while the levels got harder and I noticed they were timed. I went into the options to turn off the timed feature and found out you cannot turn off the timed feature until after you beat the level, that did it for me!!!
I am a casual player and to me Mahjong has always been a casual game to relax with. Knowing that it is timed and having to rush to beat the clock really killed this game for me!! Why not make it the gamer's choice to play it timed or not. Having it set so you can take it off the timed feature after you beat it, does not make sense to me. Good luck first timers!
If you like Timed games this is for you, if not pass this one up!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2015Game runs a bit different than on your computer. So there's more of a learning curve playing it your nintendo.
