Product Description

Bar Keepers Friend Cooktop Cleaner contains no harsh chemicals or phosphates. The active ingredient is natural and organic citric acid. BKF stovetop cleanser is safe to use on most surfaces: stainless steel, copper, aluminum, bronze, glass, porcelain, ceramic and more. DO NOT USE ON: silver, gold, natural stone such as marble or granite, or on lacquered, painted or mirrored surfaces. Stainless steel appliances are often coated in a protective film that could be damaged by scouring powders and cleansers. Always read your appliance manufacturer's recommendations before cleaning. When cleaning any surface or item in your home with a scouring powder, spray cleaner or soft cleanser, test the product on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Absolutely amazing!
I've used this product for years on my shower doors, it cleans hard water spots so easily. Amazon tells me I've purchased 4 bottles so far. The other day I was rummaging around looking for my stainless steel cleaner when I noticed this little guy. I tried it on my fridge doors and was so impressed! Seven years of smudge marks, rust spots, stains, all gone. The photo shows the right side of my fridge after one cleaning, and the untouched left side. After the fridge, I moved on to my microwave, stovetop, dishwasher, and trash cans. My microwave is over my stove, and years of cooking with grease have built up into that sticky mess I can never scrub off, it only moves around. This cut right through it. Now that I finally gave a clean baseline, a swipe with a little of this on a rag cleans up future spots. I'm really really happy with my kitchen and this product!

    Let me start by saying that I have tried almost every product in the store to try and clean my stove (trying to get the burners clean from years of wear). Finally about 4 years ago I gave up and decided that I would just buy a new stove. During these four years I have continued to used this stove with distaste! I refused to clean it (other than wiping it off with a paper towel) because nothing worked and told myself that I would buy and new one when I got a chance and let me just say I use the stove a lot! Then I decided before I sold it maybe I would try one more thing to clean it up so I could get a little bit more money out of it. I Googled the best stove cleaner and this is what came up so I figured I'd try it. Honestly I never thought that this stuff would work as good as it did! When I put this stuff on the 2 burners that I don't use as much (that weren't as black cause I didn't want to be disappointed) it worked like magic! I couldn't believe my eyes!! So then I went to the other burners that were almost totally black from years of wear. Now I read on one of the reviews that you have to used some elbow grease (which I did) and it started to come off. Granted I didn't have enough strength to work out all the black spot but I am happy with the end result. Wish I had taken a picture of the before and after but I didn't really think it would work. I was very surprised. I had never had anything work this well at cleaning my stove I even cleaned the knobs and the whole stove! It took the oily film off of the knobs and back of the stove as well! I am so impressed I've decided to keep my stove for a while longer!

    I will admit, I was a little disappointed with this purchase at first, but I've come around.

    I gave this a try for our Ceramic Cooktop after our original bottle of Kenmore cleaner ran out.
    With that bottle, you simply put some on the cooktop, buffed (waxed) it with a paper towel and buffed it out with the other side ore a new one.
    It came off very easily - no streaks, no fuss.

    This accomplishes the same thing - but I have found that after the initial buffing and wiping it off, I have to run a damp paper towel over it than dry that off to remove the streaks it leaves after the initial cleaning.
    After that extra step, it looks like new again, mirror finish.

    I will say that like some others have said - it DOES work on the shower doors though - it took a little elbow grease, but it cleaned them rather well.

    For the amount of product that you get for this price, I really can't complain, but it does involve a little more work than other cleaning creams.
    After using Bar Keepers Friend powder for cleaning our Stainless Steel, I expected this to be just as awesome, but was a little disappointed at the extra step, but am overall happy with this product due to the volume you receive and the fact that it cleaned my shower doors.

    I wish so badly that I had taken a before pic. We had a bad clog in the kitchen sink and my husband used this stuff called Liquid Fire to open it. Well, I didn't know that, so when I went to use the sink, I turned on the garbage disposal and it made this chemical flood back into the sink and stained it horribly. I tried many products to get it out, but it seemed as though it was there to stay. On a whim, I ordered this because I saw a YouTube that showed it working on the same type of stain. Shockingly, it actually worked! It got the stain almost entirely out! (So much so that you can't really see it at all unless you know what you're looking for - very faint, but I will be using this again on it to see if I can get it ALL the way out.) Super excited about this because I'm a renter.

    This stuff really works good. Our sink looks good after a few minutes . Not like new, but better than I could ever get it looking with just a sponge and soap and water. I used this on a few aluminum antiques and it really improved the shine. If you're trying to fully restore something to a mirror shine, this isn't your magic product. It will take something trashed and give it life again though. It does stink so it's probably got some harmful stuff in it. I wear rubber gloves every time . I suggest you do too.
    I recommend testing this on a small hidden area on different surfaces. There's applications where it might leave swirl marks on something that was already near mirror shined.
    All in all , it's a good product that I recommend. Canadian Tire puts this stuff on for cheap a couple times a year so if you want to save a few bucks, keep a lookout on their prices.

    Based on the reviews, a lot of people are buying this product expecting it to completely restore their glass shower doors or cook tops. The reports in the reviews fall into two categories "this works fantastic!" or "this doesn't work!"

    The problem is, some people have significantly damaged shower doors (or whatever), usually due to ETCHING. Etching is when the surface is actually eaten away, and at first glance... this etching looks like water scale or some other white deposit. Look people, you CANNOT remove etching with a simple cleaning product. How did your glass doors (or whatever) get etched in the first place? That depends... people usually do the damage themselves by using harsh cleaners or combinations of cleaners that react to produce etching agents. Whatever the cause, your glass doors (or whatever) are NOT going to be fixed by ANY cleaner. I repeat... your glass doors (or whatever) have been DAMAGED and no cleaner on the planet is going to fix that.

    My shower doors have etching, water scale, and stains. I tested this product and it is perfectly good at removing scale and stains. I would give it a 5-star rating except for the fact it's pretty expensive and I don't think it works any better than other similar more affordable polishing products that have a mild abrasive.

    If your shower doors (or whatever) are ETCHED, then they only way you're going to restore them is hiring a professional to either use an industrial polishing method to buff out the etching.... OR, you're just simply going to have to replace the damaged glass.
