If you sew very much, then you probably use, and possibly even make your own Bias Tape. I purchased this because I normally make all of my own Bias tape myself. This little gadget takes the majority of the work out of making it, and allows you to make your own easily. It comes with a 1" attachment, so if you want to make any other sizes then you also need to purchase the size attachments you need, and make sure that you read whether it is single or double fold Bias Tape. It really doesn't matter to me that its single fold, the one one is easily sewn without the fold. All you have to do is cut the fabric to the size specified on the back of the attachment, start it through the attachment, from there it feeds it through, and folds it, & at the same time it presses it, so it takes the work out of making it, and cuts your expense of purchasing ready made Bias Tape. I either never had it when I needed it, or if I buy it it rarely matches the way I want it to, or the color I need isn't in stock. The cost of this awesome little gadget will quickly pay for itself, by allowing you to make your own & be happier with the colors matching. The fact that it's so easy to use o use & so quickly runs it through & Presses it for you is reason enough for me to purchase it. You will have a lot more time to sew other things. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who sews, in case you didn't already get the message, 😀😀 I Love it !

I was using the Simplicity The Winder Machine with the heavily starched bias binding and was thrilled. Then I thought I better capture this on video to share. This is the first time (12/22/2012) I've used both the winder and the Simplicity Bias Tape Machine. The instructions said to turn them on together when I was making the bias and it worked perfectly.
In the video I am using the Simplicity 3/4-Inch Single Fold Bias Tape Machine Tip. All the packaging materials say to use twice the width of your desired finished size, so my tape is 1 1/2 inches wide.
As I wrote, I starched the bias tape heavily both before I cut it and then after stitching the lengths together. The machine had no problem ironing the joints.
This is going to be such a benefit for me. I made about 15 feet of bias tape in less than three minutes. Yes, you read that correctly.
I hope you find this review useful. A heartfelt thanks go out to all the comprehensive reviewers who helped me make my decision to purchase this machine.
    I adore both machines!

I love this bias tape maker. Once you have the fabric cut into strips (pick up a long metal ruler at the hardware store to make this easier - mine is two inches wide so I don't even have to measure), making bias tape is a breeze! I had so much fun when I first got it, and made tons of bias tape. The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it makes only single fold tape, and if you want double fold you have to run it through the machine a second time and then store it wrapped around something so it doesn't un-crease. It's still a thousand times easier than making it by hand! It makes it much more feasible to customize the bias tape so that it matches the project.

If you are looking to buy this machine in order to make custom bias tape or to simply save money on bias tape by making your own, or already make your own tape but want it to save time, do not waste your money!

The description says:Easy as 1-2-3. 1. Cut bias strips and wind on spindle.
    2. Easy-to-use feed-though tip
    3. Make perfect bias tape every time-no more
    burned fingers!

Their are actually 10 steps instead of 3.
Wind on the spindle: Sounds easy enough, right? You hand wind the fabric on the spindle while trying to keeping the fabric from turning and keeping it going straight on the spindle at the same time.

You will then put the fabric over the guide bar and place the guides on each side of the fabric.

That easy to feed-though tip isn't so easy. Yes, it does feed though well After you use a long straight pin, tweezers or a Little Foot That purple Thang or something else, to feed the fabric into the tip and then work with it until you get the fabric to come out the end of the tip without the fabric twisting or folding. Once all that is done, then yes, the tip feeds really well. Unless you have several continuous yards of cut fabric, then imagine having to do this with 20 strips of fabric. You will then lock the tip on the machine.

Next you will need to remove the heat plate cover and set it aside. You will then pull the bias tape until it is in front of the roller and then replace the heat plate cover.

Plug up the machine, select the setting, turn on the machine and wait for the iron to heat up. Once the green light is on the iron is ready. Press the run button to start the machine.

Now, that perfect bias tape which ready to use right off the machine is anything but prefect. You will need to pull out that ironing board and iron out and start ironing, because the fabric comes out with barely folded fold on each side of the fabric. It does not fold the middle fold at all. With bias tape it actually has three folds. Each side of the fabric has a nice crisp fold and then the middle is folded. This machine does not do the middle fold. It does not do nice crisp folds at all. I was so very disappointed with this machine.

2.0 out of 5 stars Muy débil
Reviewed in Mexico on July 17, 2015

This machine produces a bias trim that is not quite up to my quality standards - too irregular, but the machine is simple to use and if I didn't care about the consequences of the irregularities, then I would use it more often. As it is, I will keep it for use when my niece comes over and I'm sure she will love it.
