This is a great model that looks amazing. While slightly repetitive with the wings, it was a fun build. The stand allows the ship to be displayed perfectly with the wings in flight mode and gives a great perspective to view it. I wish they could have done something like that with the UCS Falcon. The figures are a nice add-on, although the shuttle only seats 4 so somebody has to stay behind to guard the landing gear.
This was a christmas present for my husband he enjoys putting these sets together he has several ohter large lego sets the cost was a bit high, but most of the sets are comparable for the pieces. The set is truely more for a show piece not a realy easy to play with toy for a kiddo, unless the kiddo is older and won't feel frustrated if something comes apart during play.
I saw this in the store, and knew that I must have it. Amazon Prime got it to me in a little over a day, and it took around 2 weeks to build, a hour or so each night after work. There are some parts that kids might feel difficult, but I'm relatively certain that Lego intended this for the 20-something manchild Star Wars fan Lego builder, which I definitely am. The set is made of *FOUR* manuals, so you'll be busy for awhile.
This is nowhere near sturdy enough to play with, and is intended for use as a static display model, which it does very impressively. I was only missing two or three parts (non-critical) so I e-mailed Lego customer support about that. Other than that, it can be hard to distinguish colours in the manual (dark-grey, grey, and black) but a little intelligence on your part and looking at the parts list in the back of manual #4 will help you figure it out.
I gave it five stars for durability because the set itself is made of durable Lego pieces, but the unit as a whole was never intended to be played with.
I have seven (7) Star Wars ultimate collector's sets and this one ranks second behind the Imperial Star Destroyer. This set is just larger than the actual toy that was made. It is a fun build, although the wings get a bit monotonous, but still awesome. It can be displayed with either the wings folded up or fully extended. The figures with the set are an added bonus but not necessary, this set just speaks for itself.
Great product but very expensive as it is no longer manufactured. The value however is rising on this product. It’s a little expensive to be gifting and as anyone that has assembled one of these larger Lego sets knows, they are very fragile
The item arrived on time and as advertised. It's hard to go wrong with the Ultimate Collector Series Lego sets. These things are phenomenal. They're a bit more expensive, but more detailed and far more fun to build. Take it from someone who owns 15 sets (NERD!!!).
