Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

For a grand son at Christmas. He loved the tricks it could do. But it didn't last very long. After two and a half months of use the unit no longer worked with the remote. Replaced the batteries in both the controller and the care. Still dead. Was great while it lasted.
My 6 yr old son just got the Tonka Ricochet Zig Zag Jolt for his birthday and it has handled lots of "love" well. It needs recharged often but after it's recharged goes great! The recharge is nice becuase then the car gets to rest. It has accidently gone down stairs twice and still works like a charm. Once in a while he will turn the switches the wrong way and so just check all the switches (there is a channel switch and on/off switch on the remote and the car)otherwise not bad r/c car for kids. He has 3 brothers-2 younger and 1 older and it has survived all of them as well. This is the first one to do that, so we say thumbs up to this r/c car.
It has been several weeks now and the car is still going strong we are just now going to change the batteries and it has survived the love of a 6 yr old, and his brothers - 2, 4, and 8 yr olds. In fact the others are hoping to get some r/c cars like his for their b-day.
I bought a Tonka because it's been a name known for good quality toy cars for decades. I was very disappointed in the car and more importantly, my grandson was disappointed. We charged the car per the instructions but you only get a few minutes of play before it requires charging again. The few minutes are a lot of fun but over way too soon. Most four-year-olds do not have the patience to wait for charging so frequently...mine included. I would not recommend this toy.
Toy is smaller than what you would think, but fun for little kiddies to play with. It does keep going as advertised, and good for indoor or outdoor use.
Just like other reviewers have said, the car is kind of hard to control and you have to be in a room with NO furniture. As soon as there is anything blocking the signal, the car will not move and you have to go pick it up. My husband and I and our 13-yr-old had some fun with the challenge of trying to control the cars. We made little ramps to jump them, which was fun, esp since the car can flip over and keep going! But my 6-yr-old daughter was unable to control the car and just got frustrated, which was too bad since "Santa" brought these for Christmas last year. But since the cars are hard to control and only work in wide open spaces, the novelty wore off quickly and they haven't been used since the week after they arrived. They are okay for the price. But if you are looking for a remote controlled car that a young kid can use, look elsewhere -- even if you have to spend more.
I bought one of these little Tonka cars last Christmas, but should have purchased 5. This year, the other four got their wish! Not only do the kids, dads, and moms like playing with these, but the dog was exhausted from trying to chase them down. They can definately take some considerable abuse and still provide lots of fun. Remember to stock up on AA Batteries, because each car takes (5).
