I thought it would be over her head but I bought it for later. It is actually the one she plays with the most. I will say that she is ridiculously smart for her age and at almost 4 is already reading so maybe it will still be over most 3 year olds heads (she can write, sound out letters/words, has had letter/number recognition since 2 years old, etc). If your kid is on the same level then they will be able to enjoy this sooner.

WARNING...I give this product NO stars. My son received this learning game for his birthday and he has a LeapsterGS. The package says that it "works with all Leapster systems" This is not true. It does not work with the LeapsterGS. And since we had already unwrapped the plastic I am not able to return it. Now I am stuck with a game my son can't play. The only "learning" we got from this game is that the package lies. Warning to LeapsterGS users.

Another game I ordered online for the Leapster 2. This game is F*U*N*!!!! Both my daughters, who are 4 and 7, and myself have enjoyed playing this game. It has different levels for many ages. It is a Leapster game worth owning.

My son is 4 and really has loved exploring the different levels and games on this cartridge. There are some Leapster games he has no interest in, but this one really captures his attention and he can play on his own without any help. It is a good choice!

Before I gave the game to my son who is in first grade, I checked it out myself. In an entertaining way he gets to do the math he is learning at school. So yes, thru playing this game, his math skills are reinforced. For the occasional time he is not running around, and indeed wants to play with his leapster, this game gets my full approval.

My daughter is loving this game and learning from it. We play together as she is unfamiliar with hand held games. She's learning fast and it's because of the interesting fun games.

Purchased for Christmas for my 4 year old daughter. She and my 8 year old love to play this game. My 4 year old does really well at it. Glad I purchased, since LeapFrog is discontinuing this gaming platform.
